Re: Nintendo 3DS
I just got one a few weeks ago, and own only Fire Emblem and Luigi's Mansion, so others will probably be able to offer more recommendations, but I've really enjoyed what I've played of Luigi's Mansion. Also, registering both your XL and Luigi's Mansion before the 30th on Club Nintendo will get you a free download from the following:
- Super Mario 3D Land
- Professor Layton and the Miracle Mask
- Star Fox 64 3D
- Art Academy 3DS
- Freakyforms Deluxe

Seems that (in the JRPG genre, at least since that's what I pay the most attention to console-wise) the developers for the 3DS focus on making a game with solid mechanics and stories, rather than rely on graphics and some new gimmick like most console games these days.badComment

We (in general) react WAY to fast and seem to have short term memory when it comes to stuff like this. It's always a marathon but we analyze everything like its a 40-yd dash.Comment

Isn't the the "story" of every system? Every system launches with hiccups, then comes the post launch game drought, then games start to trickle out, then by year 2 or 3, TOO MANY GAMES!

Nintendo (and other game creators) have seemed to have decided that 3D shouldn't be the main focus of the system though like earlier in it's existence.badComment

Not really. The quality of games (from a general story/gameplay quality) on ps3/360 in my opinion is nowhere near the psx/ps2 era quality and they've had plenty of years to remedy it. Obviously over the lifespan of the system things will get slightly better as devs get more experience with the system...Comment

It wasn't that there was a drought, Nintendo (and games) were too eager to push the 3D function. They relied on the new features rather than quality gameplay, which we have seen all too much in the newer generations of games.
It becomes more "look at how much we can do" rather than "look at how well we do the fewer things we do."badComment

Re: Nintendo 3DS
Looks like Level-5 (Layton series, Ni No Kuni) Fantasy Life will be coming over.
Fantasy Life Trademark Appears in the U.S.
FANTASY LIFE* is an original RPG for the Nintendo 3DS from LEVEL-5, featuring music by Nobuo Uematsu and image illustration by Yoshi-taka Amano. Set in a beautiful and vast open world, players create their own avatars and take up a vocation of their choosing, living out their lives as they see fit. You can set out on an adventure to save the world, or spend your days in leisurely pursuits such as cooking or fishing. Find the meaning of your new life in the limitless possibilities that reside in FANTASY LIFE* on the Nintendo 3DS.

Stages in Project X Zone take place in grid-based locations from the game's many crossover titles. Each friendly unit is made up of two characters (thus referred to as a Pair Unit), though a third character (or "Solo Unit") can be added for once-per-battle assistance. Unlike Namco × Capcom, units can move freely within their range on the field map, with no penalty for accessing treasure chests or destructible objects prior to attacking.
The battle system is called the Cross Active Battle System, wherein pressing the A button in combination with the Circle Pad performs up to five basic attack combos. Additional gameplay elements include Support Attack, which allows the player to call in a nearby ally for assistance, and Cross Hit, which freezes the target in place during simultaneous attacks from multiple units. Also, the player can trigger Critical Hits by connecting their next attack just before the target hits the ground after the first. As the player's units deal damage, the player's Cross Power (XP) gauge fills up and can be used for special attacks and defensive moves on the map.
Project X Zone Upgraded To Limited Edition For The West
Namco Bandai is bundling extra goodies with Project X Zone. The game will be sold as a limited edition with a mini-art book, poster, and music CD packaged with the game. Project X Zone will still retail for $39.99.
Project X Zone comes out on June 25 in North America and Latin America.Last edited by Flawless; 04-11-2013, 05:40 PM.Go Noles!!! >>----->Comment

Re: Nintendo 3DS
Count me in as a 3ds owner- just picked up the XL- downloaded Luigi's Mansion and chose Super Mario Land for my freebie.
Both games are great, and I love the 3d effect- it doesn't bother my eyes at all and I have it set to the max.
My games I plan to pick up used over the next year or so:
Mario Kart 7
New Super Mario Bros 2
Star Fox 64
Fire Emblem Awakening
Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
Resident Evil Revelations"You can not ensure success, but you can deserve it." - John Quincy Adams
