My wife bought Lego Pirates of the Carribean for it last week. She's addicted to it. I have to finish up Lego Star Wars III still for it (when I can play it), but I'm more than happy with it. Traded in our 2 DS Lites and some old games for it. Hard playing a game NOT in 3D now.

Price drop to $169 next month.

            PR

REDMOND, Wash., July 28, 2011 – Nintendo of America today announced plans to drop the suggested retail price of its portable Nintendo 3DS™ system to $169.99 in the United States, as new games based on some of the world's most beloved video game franchises head to the system. The new price, down from the suggested launch price of $249.99 and effective Aug. 12, makes an outstanding value even better and sets up a strong holiday season for the system.

Why not just do it now? LOL Basically they are saying "we won't sell a single unit for the next 2 weeks now" LOL

I'm almost tempted, but won't get it, still zero games that interest me on the thing.

This article blames the price drop on other mobile like iPhone and iPad.

If you've ever played the classic NES fighter, Mike Tyson's Punch-Out, you can probably sympathize with Nintendo right now: an absolutely huge juggernaut

Same. The only game that has looked cool is Street Fighter & Zelda but buying a system for only 2 games is not worth it yet. Plus the screen is tiny. Maybe if it has an XL screen...

still no games worth a purchase yet, but that's a surprising price drop. Should have just launched with this price though. Buying consoles early is pretty stupid anyways, and this is just another page for the history book.

I imagine this will also have to push down the prices of the DSi and XL. I might finally have to pick up a XL.
