I bought one for my 5 year old this christmas. He has a DS, but we are giving this to our 2 year old (yes 2, he plays a little, long story) Anyway,

I just read that this could be bad for childrens eyes (the 3ds) How do you turn off the 3d effect? Is it just simply turning a button up, or is there a control more "hidden" so I can turn it off?

I really just wanted him to beable to play the new mario kart, mario world, and sonic game (in moderation!)

Yes under parental controls in the settings area you can turn off the 3d. Makes the 3D slider unresponsive also.

LOL, not for me my daughter, she has the ds lite, shes been asking about the 3DS, I'm just not going to waste my money on this for her to have 3D if its just a gimmick.

I got Resident Evil Revelations and the circle pad pro for the 3DS.

I like the circle pad pro. It adds a bit of size/weight that makes it a bit more comfortable to hold in my hands.


Circle pad pro or not I really enjoy RE. Without the pad it's more like a old school one (you can't move and shoot at the same time), but with the circle pad you can move and shoot more like a more current game.

I feel the pad makes it way better, but either way the game is still amazing RE. High level game IMO. Kinda like a console version, looks pretty damn good and feels like it has good pacing for the 3DS (shorter chunks of gameplay to allow you to play in snippets like you do on mobile).

Great game on the 3DS, if you like the RE type games (look for items/keys, solve puzzles, put item a into slot b, etc).
