You have to take this into account before you can make a claim like this. I understand your point but it doesn't apply in your example and I wanted to clear up the misinformation.

Good points. I'm glad to see this IS selling though. I wish I didn't have to wait another 3-4 months to jump on this.

And still 300k from the Wii. That's crazy. Lol.

Yeah it's a good sign. Right after X-Mas I'm probably grabbing another one for my youngest daughter. No way she's hogging up my time with it.. Lol..

I heard this a lot over the holiday. I have a lot of gamers in my family and not one of them could tell me what the Wii U was. They knew about it but they didn't understand how the controller worked and most thought it was an upgraded Wii. I was surprised even some of the teenagers didn't know a thing about how the controller worked.

The marketing for the Wii U and the Vita has been nothing short of awful in my opinion.

Companies are so tricky these days with the way they parse their words and exchange "ship" numbers and "sold" numbers. The NPD report should be out soon and might be more accurate than what Reggie is saying.

I probably missed it, but did anyone post the numbers of what the Wii did?

I am pretty sure that we will have to wait until NPD posts numbers (I thought they stopped that?) to know for sure. I think the general consensus would have to be around a million for a console to be deemed popular, no? Nintendo also is making a profit with just one game sold per console. That's big for them compared to Sony, MS, etc.

The Wii did about 500k in the first week (unless you mean this week, which was 300k).

Currently, the WiiU is slightly ahead of the Dreamcast, ahead of the Vita, and just behind the PS2. But honestly, the first week doesn't matter. It's next year that will determine the system's success or failure.

From what I understand, the WiiU's emulation of the Wii software is akin to an upscaling DVD player. It looks slightly better due to the increased resolution, but basically the same.

I had posted a video a few pages back Jason comparing a Wii game **cough cough** Skyward Sword **cough** **cough** on the Wii U vs. Wii.
