The success of 3DS could pave the way for a price cut, but anything less than a $100 cut will move the needle very little for the Wii U. If Nintendo can't drop it that much, then their primary focus should continue being the 3DS; drop the price of it instead and rake it in this holiday season. Honestly, the Wii U is in such a bad situation that their best hope is that it carves out a niche overtime and despite it being deemed a "failure" is mildly profitable like the GameCube was.

The articles I've read about the Wii U and being a failure compare it to the GameCube...Only difference is that the GameCube as a system was profitable on sale, not taking a loss...The success of 3DS could pave the way for a price cut, but anything less than a $100 cut will move the needle very little for the Wii U. Nintendo can absorb the Wii U being a somewhat failure and still come out with another system...Nintendo Switch Friend Code: SW-7009-7102-8818Comment

Wonderful 101 looks interesting. Demo out soon in NA while Japan and UK already get it. The one thing that bugs me about the previews is that it seems too busy. I felt that way about Disney universe and it was a bit disappointing.

Anyone get the Wonderful 101 demo? I grabbed it last night and enjoyed it. The first time through, I had no idea what was going on, but had a better idea the second time. Definitely a game I could enjoy a bunch!XBox Gamertag: djbeth77

Nintendo says that since the Premium edition outsold the basic edition the price of the Wii U isn't a problem. Just needs software.

 Re: Wii U Discussion

Really I think he's just kinda putting lipstick on a pig w/ his pricing comment, there's not much else he can say without being brutally honest and saying they there's little point to lower the price right now. If they don't think they can turn the console around and/or the software isn't coming anytime soon (Zelda, Mario Kart, Wii Fit in 2014?) then there's no real reasoning to drop the price any lower even if they're OK/content eating the loss because that isn't going to jumpstart a revival of the system absent software to support it.Comment

Exactly! I'd consider buying it if there were enough games at the current price point...Really I think he's just kinda putting lipstick on a pig w/ his pricing comment, there's not much else he can say without being brutally honest and saying they there's little point to lower the price right now. Sure, a price cut would be nice, but I'd still hold off cause there's not enough games to make it worthwhile. I'll get my Nintendo fix on 3DS.Nintendo Switch Friend Code: SW-7009-7102-8818Comment

 Re: Wii U Discussion

I really hadn't even thought about buying a Wii U until about 2 weeks ago when the Pikmin hype started building since I enjoyed the first one. Also Wonderful 101 looks really fun and eventually more games will comes obviously.

That price though, just a little high. I could probably just get the $300 bundle since usually I prefer discs for consoles but still, I feel like the lull of new releases is getting to me and as soon as GTA V (and hopefully Madden) comes out I'll be fine. If there was a $250 option though I honestly would probably buy one this week.

Also how can I spend 300 dollars on something in 2013 that has 8GB of onboard storage. Just wtf, that is still insane to me. There should be 8GB just in the tablet to store movies and smaller downloadable games.Comment
