So I travelled home to reset my parent's password so they can use netflix, etc., and the link they give me to do that says "Site undergoing maintenence".

I don't think so...I just logged into my account management from my PSP - if it was down I don't think I'd have been able to do that.

That said..tomorrow's the last day of May and we know what Sony has said all along - it wouldn't surprise me if there is downtime at some point tonight.

I had the same problem last Friday. I tried it again a few hours later and it worked fine. Just keep trying.

PlayStation Store Returning by Week's End

Sony has announced it plans to fully restore the PlayStation Network and Qriocity services by the end of the week, unless you reside in Japan, Hong Kong, or South Korea.

For those everywhere else in the world, that means the PlayStation Store will be back online for the first time since it went down along with PSN on April 20. PSN service resumed on April 14, and the Store was did not. Sony maintained that it would have service resumed by the end of May, but it now looks as if it could miss that goal by several days.

"We have been conducting additional testing and further security verification of our commerce functions in order to bring the PlayStation Network completely back online so that our fans can again enjoy the first class entertainment experience they have come to love," said Kaz Hirai in a statement. "We appreciate the patience and support shown during this time."

Customers can now purchase and download games and video content from the PlayStation®Store on PS3 or PSP. In addition, consumers will have full access to Music Unlimited powered by Qriocity through PS3, PSP, VAIO and other PC’s. Service restoration of Video on Demand powered by Qriocity™ and Music Unlimited powered by Qriocity for a variety of network-enabled Sony devices will be announced later.

That's making it sound like the store is already back up?! (Hint: It's not....).

If I'm not mistaken they were stating the different phases that the restoration would go through and seeing as the PlayStation Store was the main part of PSN that was breached it was the last thing on the list that would go back online hence the Identity Protection Offer

They changed the wording in that bit I quoted to "will be able to" from "can now" - was obviously nothing more than a typo.

was down last night, still down tonight, cant watch netflix in my bedroom where the nice air conditioning is.
