I've been excited about this one ever since I heard about it a few weeks ago:

It just landed on my radar this week after reading about it on the PS blog.

Yep that was it. It wouldn't let me deactivate video and had to call customer service. However it was a pleasant experience and they were very nice and within 10 minutes it was done and I was all set.

What im trying to get to is, Does creating a whole different PS Network name start the activation stuff over?Like as if you just got a brand new PS3 with no systems activated?

I don't mean this to sound like a jackass, but Sony Customer Service has been quick and easy to deal with the few times I've had to call. In the day or two you've spent asking us these questions, you could have literally had them all answered by someone who definitively knows with about a ten minute phone call.

              Just a thought

Re: Playstation Network and Discussion - The New Beginning

Important note for anyone who wants to play Persona 3 FES's downloable PSN version:

There's a point in September on the game's calendar where the game freezes for me every time. And it's during a storyline mission, which means it's completely unavoidable. When I ran across this and had it happen 3 times in a row, I was worried that I had lost my 50+ hours sunk into the game. Fortunately, after googling the issue, I found that it's only a temporary freeze, lasting a little more than a minute. Still plenty long enough to be rage-quit inducing if you didn't know it's temporary, though!

That's not the only thing you should watch for though - the save files can be a little bit finicky. Sometimes the save will just plain fail, sometimes it won't show a memory card at all, and on one occasion attempting to save actually wiped out my existing save file (to where it showed no data), and I had to re-save it (and it worked the 2nd time) All of these are pretty noticeable in the save screen though, so try not to just blow through the process and you'll be fine.

                    Hmm, is it Monday yet?

Haha just kidding, but seriously... where might we get a scoop on this before tomorrow? What kinds of sites leak/speculate on this stuff? Because I'm curious as well.

Ok here's the deal. Wife just gave me the Ok to go pick up a PS3 for downstairs since she wants a DVD player down there. I have the original fat PS3 upstairs. Knock on wood no issues.

                        Three questions:

                        1) Any reported issues with the newer slim PS3s

                        2) Does it matter if I get one with less Gb's. That doesn't effect game play at all does it. And what's the point of the more Gb's?

                        3) if I already have a PS3 and a Vita will I still be able to use my PSN account on the new PS3 or will I have to deactivate one?

Thanks for the help and it actually turned out to be 4 questions.

1.) Can't answer myself as my fat ps3 is still going strong

2.) The different hard drive sizes do not affect gameplay, it just means you can save more games, demos, movies, songs etc. to your hard drive.

3.) I believe it's 2 of each system, so you can activate 2 ps3's and 2 vitas under your current username.

Thanks for quick response. Hope it's two for PS3 that would be nice.

It's actually five total for each system, not two.

The slim ps3's run with less noise then the fat ones and no the less GB will not change anything except for space for games/music u store on it.
