Re: Xbox One
Well, I still have no clue what was causing my Xbox to freeze when trying to enter the Power mode settings, and why it suddenly apparently was no longer set to Instant On, but I managed to fix the problem by doing a console reset (while keep games and apps).
After going through the setup process again and getting logged into my account, I can now get into the Power mode settings successfully instead of having the console freeze and having to force power it off and restart it.Comment

Re: Xbox One
Kinda hopeful that saying 'Cortana' outright replace saying Xbox for commands after reading this.

I'm fine with Xbox On being how it is (low power and all), but our system fights to hear us sometimes. If the power of Cortana works and helps out (especially since we're always online anyways) that would rock. I'd love an experience more like Amazon's Echo where it just hears you better.Nintendo Switch Friend Code: SW-7009-7102-8818Comment

Re: Xbox One
Yeah, give me an 'offline' indicator where only Xbox commands can be used, but otherwise hopeful that Cortana is as responsive as Alexa is on the Echo.
Not super optimistic that it will make my console run better, close to resetting everything myself. Kinda want to bite on one of the sales when they come up at some place with a nice return policy, take a new one for a test drive and see if it's our environment or the box itself.
Reluctant to do it now and end up out of the preview program or anything on the eve of Cortana being released.Comment

Re: Xbox One
Haven't played Xbox in like a month before the other day, I know there was some talk about "background music" coming to X1, has it been rolled out yet?
I checked online and couldn't find anything, thanks in advance.Fino Alla Fine

Re: Xbox One
I think that's after E3, pretty sure there'll be a bigger update after E3 with more features....I don't remember the exact timing on this though, but it was sooner vs. laterNintendo Switch Friend Code: SW-7009-7102-8818Comment

Re: Xbox One
I don't want to get into any console "wars" or the like but just wanted to chime in and say I am starting to be a lot more 50/50 with Xbox One and PS4 since I got the Elite controller and Astros (which allows me to listen to background music while I game).
Prior to a few months ago I was about 80/20 in favor of the PS4. Glad to see MS is turning things around!!Last edited by ODogg; 05-10-2016, 11:01 AM.Streaming PC & PS5 games, join me most nights after 6:00pm ET on TwitchTV https://www.twitch.tv/shaunh20

I just can't just into the Xbox One. I was all about the original and xbox 360, but this time around I find it was too slow. It's just collecting dust right now.PSN: Peji911Comment

Re: Xbox One
Just tired of yelling at the Xbox and recalibrating it is my only complaint, hopefully the "Hey Cortana" thing works a lot better as I love the voice commands (and so does the wife)Streaming PC & PS5 games, join me most nights after 6:00pm ET on TwitchTV https://www.twitch.tv/shaunh20

Re: Xbox One
Yeah I play The Division and Fallout 4 constantly on Xbox One. On PS4 I play Far Cry Primal and my sports games. As for too slow, I do agree the interface is still a bit slower than PS4 but I'm not thinking its too slow really, it's a lot improved.

I don't have both, so don't notice graphical differences, and in general just don't care about them. I enjoy gaming on it, which is what counts.Nintendo Switch Friend Code: SW-7009-7102-8818Comment

Re: Xbox One
I think I can offer some nice insight as I have both, not a console war type thing at all.
While I agree the X1 interface is a little slower, it offers 10 times more features than the PS4 version. Leaderboards, gamehubs, the colors, etc. are just some of my favorite features.
Don't even get me started on achievements vs. trophies haha.
Yes the PS4 overall runs smoother and is faster, but Xbox still is more fun to me and always will be. The integration with PC and overall features it has and I believe will come in the future are also big positives. Plus, Xbox Live is still superior to my as compared to PS Network.

Re: Xbox One
Both consoles have their positives and negatives.
Last gen, Xbox 360 was my primary console with PlayStation 3 being used for exclusives. This gen, PlayStation 4 is my primary console with Xbox One being used for exclusives.
I have two personal negatives for both consoles -
PS4
- No folders for all the apps on the XMB (major)
- No off option for the controller light bar (minor)
Xbox One
- No off option for the controller vibration (major)
- Install times are insane (major)
Quantum Break took 45 minutes to install and no, I wasn't connected to the internet. I also hate the Xbox One interface. Xbox 360 was ******* fast and had that controller vibration option. Just don't understand how one thing is missing completely and the other got worse. In fairness though, the PlayStation 4 interface is faster but I just hate the long scrolling. Worse thing is that three of my four complaints would just be to add an option for users.
With that said, I still own both consoles and for Xbox One, im mainly waiting for Gear of War 4 and hoping ReCore gets a gameplay video at E3. Scalebound is 50/50. Hate the damn lead character. UGH.
Both are good and im far more concerned with either (or both) doing stupid ******* crap that they shouldn't even think about doing. But whatever, at least I have enjoyed the majority of the games that I have played this gen so I can't really complain (even though I always do...lol).Comment

Are we really still doing this? It's been 2 1/2 years.
