I'm sure it can. The thing is Devs may not program the games that Way. They could op for 4K over 1080p 60 fps .

This doesn't line up with the "no gamer is left behind" logic though. If they make games to run 4K and not 1080 people with their day ones and One S are screwed.

He means there won't be game exclusives . Example , Watchdogs will come out on Xbox one s and Xbox Scorpio . But Scorpio could be in 4K (or 1080p 60 fps) while one s could be in 1080p or 900p.

So even if you can't buy a 4ktv right now you can still play watchdogs .

I'm not expecting game exclusives. I'm taking his comment like this....He is telling people without a 4K tv that they won't see any improvements over their current console. Which makes no sense to me.

I'm also starting to think this thing might be more expensive than we were thinking yesterday.

And if those comments mean this then Scorpio wouldn't run 1080/60 because that's clearly an improvement over the original Xbox one. So it gives a reason for people without 4K tvs to buy one.

Lol I think the one s is going to sell really good. Hardly anybody knows about 4ktvs (I get sick of explaining it 5 days a week for 8 hours)

I once played a blu ray on a Samsung tv and a lot of people thought it was 4K( it was 1080p). So I think the one s will do great.

Just want to say this as a guy who works in electronics . Whenever you upgrade to a 4ktv especially for gaming look for HDR support. That's big. It's in most upper and some mid level TVs . Some of the cheaper ones don't have it. Many 2016 4ktvs have them. Most of the 2015s don't

Yes he is right with the HDR...Not all of them have this...Mostly high end ones and future 4K sets

I was fortunate enough to get one last year so S model xb is awesome.

Phil is stating that if you have no 4K tv then Scorpio is not a smart choice because it is designed for fidelity that you cant take advantage of.

The slim has extra gpu and cpu performance due to the UDH chip that frees up more resources over the original. Games going forward developed on the slim will gain a boost over default xb1 which will see more and more full 1080p or 900p 60fps

If a bump from 900 to 1080p or 30 to 60fps means you want to splurge on high end machine then go ahead but Phil is just saying not worth it for those

A guy who buys a scorpio on 1080p set vs a guy buying scorpio on 4k HDR set are going to say the following

1. I do not see a big different in this game over what is on xb1 or slim

2. 4K owner is going to say Dammm this look amazing and so much better.

Honestly I think Phil was just trying to sell some Xbox S's. After the announcement there were articles dedicated to "why buy a Slim if Scorpio is year away," that kind of deal, Phil is probably just addressing that line of thinking

When Scorpio launches I'm sure we will get videos of "look how well Gears of 4 runs in 'Scorpio Mode' at 1080p!" Or stuff like that, anyway.
