You make a good point here, but Rockstar and Monolith were able to keep games under wraps more. R* and Bethesda don't give you that much lead time on releases (Fallout 4 was that fall at a E3 reveal).

I suppose it's more hope that next year has more stuff in the pipeline. I just feel that they haven't really hit on anything new/quality with exclusives.

We do, but maybe they will give us a peek at what's coming down the line. Since they seem to be clearing E3 time for games, I hope there's some surprises in the works.

Any idea when we can pre order or when it's releasing? Haven't got a chance to read about it besides seeing the specs posted on Facebook

Yeah it would be nice to get a glimpse into what's coming after the titles we already know of for sure.

People just guessing fall/holiday, which would make sense. Nothing official though.

I guess the question is which will cost more, a new Graphics card or the Scorpio.

Preorder over the summer for sure, once a date and/or price is announced.

Until I can play Madden on my PC it doesn't matter to me, and that's speaking as someone who just spent over $650 on a 1080 Ti last month.

Wow, I just saw that... kind of funny.

Now we wait for E3 for pricing and release date. I bet you will be able to preorder as soon as MS's E3 conference comes to close.

Specs sound great. Wish they made an IP I like to justify the purchase.

                      Plus, I don't have a 4k tv either.

I respect that. Once UWP and Play anywhere came around I realized I didn't need both consoles and the Xbox One anymore to get those First Party Xbox Exclusives. I ditched the XB1 hardware and just bought the MS exclusives via UWP. It really was a great move for me.

I'm definitely interested in seeing where the price point is on the scorpio though, because sometimes just sitting in front of a TV after a long day at work in front of a computer is more relaxing.

The digital foundry article guesses Scorpio will be $500. I don't think they can charge much more than that for a console.

$499 with a pack-in that shows off the new graphics? Maybe a remastered Ryse?

                                Re: Xbox One

The original PS3 was $600 and flopped hard for that reason. $500 is probably a safe bet, but we're in dangerous territory in that the Scorpio isn't even its own generation of console. Based on what I understand, it is going to be heavily tethered to the X1 (no independent or proprietary development). In all the tech will only be used for graphical (and perhaps some very minor gameplay) enhancements.

In my mind, that seems like a waste, and also lends credence to why the PS4 Pro isn't lighting the world on fire. In other words--this should be expected. If Microsoft is going to be eating a lot of cost with this console, then it makes even less sense.

I do like what the Scorpio is doing to create efficiencies where the PC can't compete, like the baked-in DX12 processing, as that gives it a somewhat incomparable advantage over other machines. Unfortunately, I'd like the idea a lot more if the Scorpio was going to introduce a new stream of software, but that doesn't sound like the case. I'll just wait another two or three years for the next true generation of hardware.

Also I wonder how much this further customization will push prices up. Building a PC has almost always been the best alternative from a price-per-performance ratio, exclusive games excluded. If console manufacturers can start competing with high-end PCs at a reduced price point, that's a huge win overall. We're talking the price of an entire console being less than or equal to the price of a single GFX card that boasts equivalent performance.
