But wait, you just have to be ONLINE to have that right, you don't have to be in MULTI-PLAYER do you? Those are two different things altogether.

I'm not totally sure but I guess at this point I would assume you could create a private online lobby and blow up everything if you want.

That's correct. Sort of reminds me of all the racing games where you have to be online. I know people hate that but in general it's usually seamless. Just because you have to play it online doesn't mean you have to actually play with other people.

I mean there's not many people who don't have their consoles online all the time anyways.

Damn. Those side by sides tell the story. Crazy how much better they can even make a game like this look.

Except when people suggested this during the original Xbox One reveal insanity, there was a crazy uproar at needing to be online even once every few days or something. EVERYONE PLAYS OFFLINE ALL TEH TIME ZOMG

sorry...if people realized that we might have tradeable digital games now....le sigh

And just because a game is animated it doesn't mean it's a "little quirky kids game". Some of the best games I have played use cell shading or animation. It's really close minded to dismiss Games or draw conclusions on them just because of the way they look.
My gut tells me that while the destruction aspect was a technical marvel and all that, it makes for pretty boring and receptive gameplay. At some point, the devs had to re-emphisize the fun gameplay that made the original addictive as hell.

But console warriors will read it as a failed promise. All reports from t he E3 floor is that Crackdown is ridiculously fun to play, and is better than the trailer looks. Exactly like the original game, IMHO. I thought the original looked dumb as hell, until I played it.

Right now, all this whining over exclusives is just an excuse to have some list war. I mean, personally, when I see the trailer of a game that doesn't live up to my expectations, my first thought is that I just saved $60 and can move on. Never, at any time during ownership of the Xbox, 360, or the One, have I sat there wishing my console had more games.

But it is the console warrior that is going to list out every game and whine about what they don't like. You know what? I don't give two ****s about Sea of Thieves. Haven't been excited for it during any trailer or gameplay reveal. So I just don't talk about it, because for those that like the look of it, what do I have to offer?

I saw games at E3 I will buy, including Crackdown 3. I saw a console that is going to be ridiculously awesome for 4K gaming. Devs and publishers that decide to take advantage of that are going to release dome amazing stuff that are going to cause Digital Foundry to praise the X1X over the Pro week after week. It's going to make it obvious when some devs and publishers hold back, whether that is just to avoid putting new assets in place, or if Sony buys parity.

Regardless, I will just play games that look like fun. Microsoft showed several of those at E3. I'm not going to worry about a console warrior that wants to talk about the games they don't like more than what they do.

I read in an article where they guessed that it's cause the team had to have a single player that didn't require online. Multiplayer they can require that (obviously), so hence the difference. Probably didn't work well to make fully destructible an option.

Thanks a lot gamer outragers back in the day. This is why we can't have nice things!

You need to get constant updates/patches, games like Destiny are always online, etc....

I get the point, and I feel there should be the ability that lets you play offline, but honestly you'd have a pretty horrible experience never getting day one game patches and things if you're always offline.

We can agree to disagree though....
