You don't need a Kinect to stream on Twitch, do you? If so, then MS has a terrible Twitch setup.

I'd get the Kinect if you are even remotely interested in Fantasia. GOTY candidate for me. Wife and I have been playing it, my toddler jumps up and tries to play it with us.

Can't say there's much else coming for it, and most don't appreciate the OS-level functions it provides without using it (depending on setup/use case), so chicken-egg situation for the latter.

I just bought the Kinect-less version, but would like to try out the voice features for TV at some point.

HDMI pass through should have been standard for both nextgen consoles. Awesome feature.

No, but you won't get the video of you playing, or the automatic microphone so you don't have to wear a headset...

you can stream just the gaming stuff yes...but a lot of real streamers now tend to include video of themselves too

You like it, it's not a joke to you. Everyone I know personally thinks it is a joke. Two different camps of thought, because we use our consoles differently. Nobody is really wrong here.

For gaming there is zero requirement for it unless you want to play the Kinect games they come out with.

What are the reasons to unhook it? Thinking its a joke is not a good reason. Why do you think it's a joke? It takes nothing away from the console being hooked up it only adds to it. So buying it and unhooking seems silly to me.

Space concerns, it adds nothing to to the console game wise, they couldn't get it to work properly ever after calibrating it a ton, there's no reason to sit down and high five or talk to your video game console when you can click a button more easily, no features that interest them. The list can go on.

I personally thing it's a joke because there's zero need for it on a video game console (which is what I use my XBox for.) I don't need a media player, I've got my HTPC that works light years better than any console ever will for said use. I don't need a living room Skype machine, I've got a computer. I don't need any TV features. I've used it at their places when I was home, hated it and then laughed at it.

Again, just different strokes. It is absolutely a joke to me. That doesn't mean the product is a joke, it just means it will never have a place in my home.

The same way that Oculus Rift is absolutely a joke to me, but there are people that are hyped up. Don't let people that don't like something you ruin your enjoyment of it. Again, two different viewpoints on a superfluous piece of equipment.

Tons of the voice commands are much quicker than using the controller. So I can't follow that reasoning. And if you have space concerns I would not even buy an Xbox one. Thing is massive.

You aren't going to change my mind. I've used it. It's trash to me because I have zero use for it. I'm basing this off of personal experience. I'm not sitting here trying to change your mind about the Kinect.
