uhm, what the hell is this site you linked us to? Now that looks like a fake blog.

It's a tumblr blog from a guy who started a fake rumor to "prove" that the gaming media will spread anything. On the site you linked to, you'll see an update with a link to that blog and an explanation about how they fell for a fake email.

It is not 100% it is 50%. For instance say you have a shirt for $30 bucks and it is 30% off. That is

30.00 X .7 = 21.00

Now lets do that 50% off

30.00 x .5 = 15.00

Now lets reverse this.

30.00 ÷ .7 = 42.86 you just added 30% onto 30 bucks.

30 ÷ .5 = 60.00 you just added 50% onto 30 bucks.

70 to 105 is closer to 45%, you are dividing 70 bucks in half which gives you 35 then adding 35 to 70 to give you 105. That is not how it is done with money.

I know this because I am in purchasing and work with percentages of marking up items daily. If I put 20 to 40 points on something I have to know how to do it lol. If my cost on a item is say $486.59 and I need to add 20% on my cost to give my listing price the price would be $608.24 selling price.

I still say 50% extra = Take full trade value and divide that in half and add that to full trade value = Extra 50%..

What you are talking about is margin calculation:

item cost / (100% - margin%)

It's a completely different thing.

For example:



25% extra (more), original size 6oz, with bonus 7.5oz

6+6*.25=7.5

6/.75=8

Ahhhh I got ya. I'm used to dealing mark up and since that is the same stance I assumed on the return I used the same calculations.

Now with that said, at the time I did the return they called it 50% more on systems and 50% more on games. I received $140 where I would of got $70 any other day. So I assumed it was no different than marking something up 50% gross margin which would of been the trade in value. Ohhhhhhh math lol

Does the incoming PS4 announcement mean the 720 will be announced soon as well? My guess is that they won't want to wait until E3.

Maybe MS will say they're letting Sony go first the way Sony hedged before MS's earnings call.
