Re: Xbox 720
The only difference I've really seen between posters is less anti-MS/Sony v pro-MS/Sony but rather how far down the rabbit hole people are willing to take rumors and then make definitive statements based on them and people considering the options and looking forward to actual announcements. Conflict seems to erupt when people are then called on that or it's attempted to be discussed at all.
As has been pointed out multiple times already, the always-on stuff was based on devkit leaks and appears to not be true save for the Xbox-mini because that's the market it satisfies (AppleTV, also provides 360 BC).
Remains to be seen how Kinect fits, but just as not every Wii game uses motion controls as the primary form of interaction not every 720 game will use a Kinect even if it's bundled. I'm not piling what if's on top of what if's on top of what if's to really speculate from there there.
Anyways, some details on possible launch titles, 4 exsluvies at launch, via the Verge/vgleaks:
The Verge is about technology and how it makes us feel. Founded in 2011, we offer our audience everything from breaking news to reviews to award-winning features and investigations, on our site, in video, and in podcasts.
Ryse: Former Codename Kingdoms. Crytek is developing the game and Microsoft assists the process. They are working together to get an AAA game. Ryse would be the Gears of War/Halo megaton for Durango. This game would take advantage of the upgrade specs of the new Kinect.
Forza: New iteration with super life-like visuals.
Zombie game: No info provided for this one.
Family game: Pixar style graphics.Last edited by mestevo; 04-12-2013, 02:36 PM.Comment

It doesnt matter what you see at this point, its time to move on. Your post would be just fine without all of that stuff in beginning, so im not going to keep asking.Comment

Re: Xbox 720
Neither company (Sony or MS) wants to give up too much information early and then lose the hype.
IMO MS is doing great with regards to hype, more people are interested in it because of the mystery.Nintendo Switch Friend Code: SW-7009-7102-8818Comment

Re: Xbox 720
I don't know why so many people are worried about the games. The games will be there, that's a given. I think Microsoft will be the first really successful IPTV provider. For one, they are using the Xbox as a platform so they already have a multi-million fan-base sitting in front of the TV using the Xbox. So most people will buy it for gaming and because they are Xbox fans and these people will be introduced to a new way to enjoy their TV service and favorite apps. Also ive heard that Microsoft supposedly has more content providers than any other IPTV service. I agree that Kinect sucks for gaming, but imagine navigating and changing channels on your TV/cable with Kinect gestures and voice commands! This could revolutionize the way we interact with our TVs. No more grandma calling into the cable company to change inputs on TVs or because they can't operate the cable companies complicated looking remote.
My only question is, how much is this going to cost. The content providers are going to want to get paid. I'm thinking Xbox Live may go up in price, plus monthly charges for individual services like Netflix, Hulu Plus, and so forth could really start to add up. Or maybe they will have multiple pricing plans and packages, who knows.Last edited by ghettogeeksta; 04-12-2013, 10:35 PM.Comment

Re: Xbox 720
There are plenty of people that really dont give 10 cents about IPTV man. You might not believe it but its true. Had it been that important to them, Google would've been halfway decent.
This isnt even about IPTV, its about the next Xbox and its still too much we dont know. All of the its too early stuff is really not true. We are 2 months from E3, its not like M$ is still adding secret features they dont want Sony to magically add in a month.Comment

Is this system even going to come out in Japan? It seems like every single feature is focused on the US. I know the 360 wasnt popular over there anyways, but it seems like they are giving them nothing.
Leaving out the country that has the best games and such kinda would make me anxious as a fan...badComment

Re: Xbox 720
I just want to see some games. The extra stuff isn't going to sway me one way or the other. Just price and games as I want a gaming machine regardless of the company, Sony or MS.
I am glad for those that want and will use the extras but it's not for me.Last edited by Skyboxer; 04-13-2013, 01:05 AM.Joshua:

Re: Xbox 720
HDMI passthrough is much more than IPTV, it's a convenience that you really can't appreciate unless you've used something like a GoogleTV before, and even they were miserably slow for the most part. Will be interesting to see what they unveil to support that functionality.
As far as Japan, 'they' haven't given out anything, just all these rumors and assumptions largely based off of dev kits. With the way Sony has been working with indie devs and improving the process this time around I suspect MS will have an uphill battle there anyways.Comment

Yeah people don't care about IPTV now, that's why I say the next Xbox is the perfect platform, it will introduce people to a whole new way of looking at TV/cable. Once they hookup their Xbox and see how it works by being able to access all their favorite apps right on the TV screen without changing inputs, and using Kinect to navigate and change channels they are going to love it as a bonus to having great games to play.Last edited by ghettogeeksta; 04-13-2013, 02:51 AM.Comment
