Right, but the day Sony showed the PS4 (Feb 20th), was also one of the worst market days this year in which the entire market was down almost 2%. Since then Microsoft has gone up 25%.

Right. I'm not saying this dooms MSFT or anything, but it does show that they completely underwhelmed on a grand stage. Normally these reveals make the prices go up at least a bit.

They had a big bump before the reveal, but then it just dropped from there - while sony is up almost 10%. It's not a coincidence that these things happened at 10AM EST, it just shows that Microsoft didn't have a good showing and that they might have an uphill battle to fight with console gamers.

Neither Sony or Microsoft have an uphill battle to fight yet. Both systems have their dedicated fans, both systems will have their own few exclusives, and each one will have its on bells and whistles. Both systems will do fine in the end, and thats exactly what we need to happen. Competition brings out the best in both companies, and both systems will have a pretty similar experience with gaming, its the extras that will push one system ahead of the other.

I agree. From what I know so far Sony's embracing the gamer, while MS is adding in all the extras for more than gaming.

Right now my PS3 is only a blu-ray player...I don't see the PS4 changing that much (given what they've revealed). Xbox One seems to be more than just gaming.

I find it hilarious that there are people, not on here, that are screaming about Xbox One allowing developers to make their games always online, but not realizing that one of the main games at Sony's press conference, Destiny, is indeed always-online.

I'm interested to here more about the used games. How much is the fee that will be paid?

I bet Gamestop is a bit worried.
Man that is some b.s. right there. So now I can't take my copy of Madden over to my friend's house and play without forcing him to install and pay a fee to play the game? That's lame.

Add in the fact that this will cripple the used game market has me as a consumer very backed into a corner, and I don't like it.

Can someone also explain the EA-Microsoft deal? Does this mean no EA games on the PS4?

You're correct it definitely is influencing the prices right now, but more than likely it's amateur traders and not the big firms. The big boys know that neither company makes a lot of money off of these consoles. The PS3 wasn't profitable until almost 4 years after it launched. I'm pretty sure the 360 never even accounted for more than 10% of Microsoft's revenue either.

That's why I don't understand why think its such a hard choice to pick one or the other.

Sure they have there differences but for the most part they are close to the same an either would be a good choice

Currently planning on anywhere from $40-$45 per title.

                            Let me preface this....

It all depends on what kind of work arounds / software exploitation is found before the system in place goes live.

Whoa. One would think Sony would have to be competitive with that, no? Are the days of $60 new games finally over?

It appears to be either timed exclusives or true exclusives for some modes and add-on DLC. In other words, a glorified pre-order bonus.

All the EA Sports games will be on PS4.
