Re: Xbox One
Plus if it's more "always on" then perhaps it's "checked in" more recently, ie. the minutes before you lost internet?
Maybe not, but I'm sure there'll be some concession....Nintendo Switch Friend Code: SW-7009-7102-8818Comment

So if you're playing a single player game and your modem happens to go out, the game stops playing?Comment

Re: Xbox One
Not recently, as far as I recall. The worst it got was a few months ago when it was out for more than 4-5 hours. Thankfully, I had other entertainment like my PS3 & 360 that didn't require me to be online to play my games.
Again, it's not the end of the world, but I certainly understand the concern and the frustration.
I don't quite get why you interrogate people who bring this up though. It happens. Whether they actually experience it or not shouldn't be an issue because it's a legitimate concern for consumers.Comment

Re: Xbox One
I'm asking because I want to know who would actually be hurt by this and who is just bringing it up just cause. From what I've seen, it doesn't really seem to be something that actually affects many people who would actually buy a console. Not recently, as far as I recall. Re: Xbox One
By a comment like this, even if explained from others' viewpoints or circumstances you won't ever see the big deal here.
Personally it wouldn't bother me that much - But I don't see the reasoning why Microsoft would think this is an idea worth pursuing. Because fact is a lot of people either don't have the console hooked up to internet in the room they play, don't care about hooking up to play online, have shoddy internet service that can go out at times for days (mine has done that before) or as some state travel.
It is a big deal I would think to look at all those things before making such a drastic decision.Last edited by zanner; 05-22-2013, 12:28 PM.Comment

Re: Xbox One
Id give it a year before every game magically has a reason why you must be online 24/7 to play.

Re: Xbox One
Bad idea.Originally posted by CloudFuel
MS needs to go the Sony route and make "classics" available for relatively cheap on the network.
Sony learned that including a backwards compatible chipset is pretty ****ty, and gives double the chance for hardware failure.
Updating their old games for sale on the marketplace would be the best course of action here. Another reason why I will get a PS4 - the huge market of PSX/PS2/PS3 games I can download and play.badComment

After seeing this joke of a reveal, I will no longer even consider MSFT. It's over, that was a joke. I didn't see one thing that I would really use, and they showed basically prototypes of games.Comment

Re: Xbox One
If you want to persuade your wife, I'll give you a suggestion : Do not mention the internet connectivity and the camera that must be connected .... (I'm probably going with PS4 given the VITA remote play where my wife can still watch tv, but when I mentioned this to my wife about the camera she instantly said "That's really creepy, no way".) .. Just advice on that front, leave the camera part out . Plus see what she thinks about changing the channel by talking to a box or making hand gestures - She may love that idea, but that really didn't do much on my home front
My only gripe is not really with the Xbox One, but more of my situation. My wife is not going to want me gaming in the living room. I want to use all the features but it may have to be in my man cave. I've got a few months to figure this out. Maybe the TV features of the Xbox 1 will be enough to persuade my wife, lol.
