    Not sure if mentioned....

Multiple accounts can use a single Xbox Live subscription on the One

A lot of negativity here. There is some good news too. Here is a good collection of xbox one news:

I liked reading that your live sub will work on both 360 and one, with family members able to share one account with separate profiles.

As of right now, I intend on getting One asap.

        Hmm, let me see....

I was in the military for quite some time and have been deployed several times. Unless you are stationed in war zones such as Afghanistan or Iraq, then soldiers do in fact have internet access. I was part of the initial surge into Iraq and AT&T, Yahoo, and MSFT donated equipment enough to get soliders online what little opportunity they could via Yahoo Chat back in 03-04.

Right now even remote FOB, PB, and Camps inside of Iraq and Afghan do in fact have internet access in the recreation areas. Maybe there isnt a wired connection in each quansa hut, but there is internet access.

Sure, not every soldier will have internet at every post and every camp in every warzone, but the amount of soliders that are actually in places like this is very minor even compared to the number of deployed soliders currently.

Dont hop on a soapbox you have no clue about buddy.

Oh I know my last post was negative but I still plan on getting an Xbox One and I'm sure I will love it...but just know how these things go from being a gamer since the Atari days.

Until, and if, I hear MS talk about the limits on recording to the cloud then I'm going to assume it's small clips, not like as much as you have space for.

Also, will the Xbox One have any way to share games like the PS4? So like if one of my coaches in the league is playing his NCAA game he can share it with the league and we can watch him play?

Or will you only be able to have him record it, post it and we watch later?

Don't have the link, but lets you save a game ANYWHERE and return later, even if you turn the console off.

Pretty big feature (I always hear about OS'ers complaining about in game saves)...Sounds like it behaves similar to a cell phone game.

Hey wiseguy, considering we have literally thousands of soldiers deployed in war zones and remote areas without internet access all over the world right now, areas such as Afghanistan, Iraq and elsewhere, your point of "well most everyone in the military has internet except....all those in war zones" makes your post look pretty ignorant, uncaring or a dreadful combination of both..

IMO those soldiers are in war zones, or remote areas without any internet, are the ones that are risking the most of anyone and thus to discount them as you have in your post is just utterly asinine. These are the guys who need stress relievers such as Xbox the MOST as they are risking their life and limb every day.

Right now, as of today, wikipedia puts the amount of soldiers in combat zones at about 173,000. I'm sure some of those do have internet but that still leaves about 150,000 to 160,000 soldiers without any way of playing Xbox. That's no small number to me but then maybe you have a completely different idea of how many people matter in regards to the issue.

Thank you for your service btw but just because you've been in the military does not make you an expert, or more knowledgeable about a civilian, on this subject.

I was there buddy, you were not.

You can not speak to what we deal with there, nor what we have or dont have, so I was asking that you not speak about something you know nothing about.

While some of us were overseas getting shot, you were sitting here complaining about dreads in Madden.

Feel free to remove any talk about the military of which you know nothing about, nor would ever be man enough to understand.

Again, thank you for your service but it doesn't make you an expert on video games in the military. I have no idea what your beef with me is but go ahead and keep posting silly posts like these because you're only making yourself look disrespectful of both me and the military in which you served.

P.S. You may want to re-read the terms of service here at OS, personal attacks are not allowed. Just giving you a heads up before they hit you with the red card.

The hyperbole in this thread is staggering.

If you dont like the system ( either one ), dont buy it.

No one cares if /random OS poster #133211 buys a system or not.

Majority of the USA has broadband, HDTVs have a much larger installed base, the entire world runs off of the internet, they are in the process of getting all of the used games revenue they have been missing out on..etc...etc.

Gaming and any other new technology breakthroughs dont need to wait on the lowest common denominater to improve. Guess we should all be running around with sticks and trying to kill our own food since there are people in Africa that havent made it to the modern age yet and its not fair we can go to the grocery store and they cant.

You either adapt or get left behind, its up to you decide what to do and you have that choice with your wallet.
What a reach. "technology breakthroughs" as you call it arent the issue with always on, or the overall One. But please go on.

And I find your comment on hyperbole so fitting to your very post.

Something I read from another site.

All I heard for everything they said, and more importantly, refused to talk about , was that (Gaming) Consumers are last this time around, and you’re getting whats good for (you) MS.

It reminds me VERY much of SONY’s hubris and launch of the “one box to do it all” PS3 vision they had. Only difference is MS isn’t stupid enough to try it at the PS3’s price point.

Everything here seems to be point towards promoting content providers, services, big name publishers, ect at the cost of gaming consumers. Kinect is mandatory. Your games ping Live now and need activation. You’re forced to play off the HDD even with Disc content. It’s tied to your account. You’re forced to trade in their infrastructure. You’re forced to pay a fee to transfer you “license”, cause lets face it, you don’t own that disc content anymore. You’re always being watched by a camera.

Honestly, MS pretty much created the big brother console and is giving the industry everything it wishes. It’s going to be very interesting to see what they do with our personal info as well.

Dont see a personal attack in anything said, nor can one even be implied.

I asked that you refrain from posting about topics that you have absolutely zero knowledge of, and trying to use the military as some way to hyperbole a point you are trying to make.

In no shape or form is that some sort of personal attack.

If you have some sort of personal insight that I may not have, I would be intrigued to hear it. Having deployed numerous times and being in over 10 different countries with the military, I feel quite certain I know what they have and dont have. While there may be some "one-off" FOB or Camp out in the middle of nowhere, its certainly the exception and not the norm.

Majority of soliders stationed overseas are either in Germany, Japan or Korea...with their deployments taking them to Iraq or Afghanistan. Now every post in Germany , Korea , and Japan have internet access which means you must be talking about Iraq of Afghan.

In Iraq you have a fraction of soliders that do in fact, NOT have internet still...but the majority of places do have internet.

FOB Latham and Musan do not have internet access that I am aware of, but thats about it.

Its personally insulting to listen to someone act like they know something about the military and in fact have zero clue. I guess maybe I should view it as a personal attack against the military, but Im a grown man and can respect others opinions...you just look ignorant in doing so....( and look up the word ignorant , its not an insult or attack either )

And it's insulting to me that you have such a personal vendetta that you deem it worthy to try to insult me by criticizing a very valid point, that a large number, about 150k, of our troops will not be able to play Xbox with the online-required feature.

As I said before, one doesn't have to serve in the military to be an advocate for them for a video game. The fact that you think it's a great topic to pick to have a beef with me shows just how lacking you are as to perception. The vast majority of people on here are going to agree with the idea that not only is the online-required option wrong but that about 150,000 of our troops not being able to play Xbox because of it is even more wrong.

Maybe next time save your anger and mock outrage to pick a fight with me over something that makes a little more sense than being opposed to advocating something for the military. The fact that you were in the military should mean you are even more of an advocate for our troops, not less of one. And the fact that you attempt to act is if that service negates any civilians opinion on video games for soldiers is quite laughable and makes absolutely no sense.

So let's get three things straight....are your REALLY saying you're in favor of this online-requirement?

Or are you just saying 150,000 soldiers is not that big of a deal if they can't play Xbox?

Or are you just saying that no one who has ever served in the military can ever make a comment in regards to the military and how they play video games?

The first question is debatable, if so state your opinions why more than just "you don't know what you're talking about" which is no argument at all in favor of the online requirement.

The second question is disgraceful if you in fact have served because there's no patriotic American who should view a "mere" 150,000 or so troops as undeserving as such a basic necessity as playing a video game, let alone one who has actually, as you claim, served in the military and experienced the life.

The third question is just a real distraction from the first two. And an apparent attempt to try to insult me from your comment regarding dreads. We aren't discussing how realistic video game war deaths are or something that would give a military combat veteran some special insight that a civilian couldn't have. We're talking about whether or not our troops can have access to Xbox games due to having internet or not is a valid reason to be against an online-once-per-day requirement. That's an opinion that anyone can have, regardless of service.

Oh and one last thing, being in the military is a great service to this country but being in the military doesn't make you an expert on anything related to it. Nor does it keep you from being obnoxious on video game forums apparently.
