Re: Xbox One
Maybe paranoia was the wrong term. My point wasn't that the government doesn't have the ability to watch you. My point is why would they? Unless you're hatching terrorist plots, making drug deals, or dragging dead bodies around, they have no reason to want to. There is no incentive.

Was a Microsoft fanboy this generation until about a year ago. Finally broke down and bought a PS3 this past Christmas. Wished I had done it sooner. Don't know if Microsoft can do anything to reverse this bad press. Outside of rethinking their policies.Redskins, Lakers, Orioles, UNC Basketball , and ND Football

I'm personally not too worried, I'll just keep all of my illegal activities away from that console. My dog's butt smells like cookiesComment

Re: Xbox One
This guy has been proven right before. In any case, the rumors only continue to get worse...we'll see them either confirmed or denied in 3 hours.

1. Confirmed Microsoft is actively attempting to get developers to not mention PS4 versions. If they don't say "OUR GAME IS EXCLUSIVE FOR XBONE" expect a PS4 version. #truthfact
2. More DRM messaging at Gamescom. There is no rental strategy. Try to sweep it under the rug and hope people don't remember.
3. Cloud power was designed as DRM. Period. DRM was Microsoft's idea. EA and Ubisoft are supporters, Activision slightly less so.
4. DRM plans are actually worse than what they've stated.
5. Mirror's Edge 2 at MS conference.
6. Prince of Persia (reboot?) at MS conference.
7. Secret Phil Spencer game = World of Tanks
8. Live paywall still there.
9. Dead Rising 3, and exclusive DLC for another Capcom game at MS conference.
10. No online paywall for PS4. Unconfirmed.
11. No DRM info for PS4.Comment

Kind of expect implementation vary a bit from publisher to publisher until general standards fall into place for both consoles over the first year or so.Comment

I'm most curious about the pricing and whether they will allow Sony room underneath to lowball them.
It is fair to say however that I am in the "you couldn't give me one right now" camp. The privacy concerns are legit; it may not be the government who is interested in me since I'm generally law abiding. However, I don't want to be Internet famous for telling a politically incorrect joke in my own home. I also have a gigantic backlog of this-gen games and honestly could probably go about six months just off underplayed PS2 titles I still have.
One thing I don't get at all is the complaining about no backward compatibility. I still have a working SNES, PS2 and intend to keep my 360 and PS3 for as long as they power on. Why would I want to pay a premium to play this gen games on a non native controller thru an emulator? Now playing

Re: Xbox One
The games offered for XBL gold members kinda sucked (atleast the two he showed) I thought it would be a little newer games. Not a fan of World of tanks either...
EDIT:: They were AC II and Halo 3 (what xbox fan don't not have these?)Last edited by TheBleedingRed21; 06-10-2013, 12:52 PM.Comment
