Re: Xbox One
MS probably doesn't care as much as the the publishers do. But give them a system that lets them do something like prevent used games sales in the first x weeks of release and I'm sure they're probably willing to bend on other things they wouldn't normally.Comment

Major Nelson will be putting out a blog on Family Sharing in next couple of weeks. What we know is anyone in your circle (designated 10 members) can have access to your library & DLC.
You also can play the same game @ the same time in single player mode. What we're not sure of is can this happen in Multi-Player

Re: Xbox One
Well, not entirely. Perhaps I'm misunderstanding, but the way the family sharing information reads its sounds like you can play your game while one "family member" can play the same game as well at a different location.

According to a Major Nelson interview, that wont be possible unless playing split screen(obviously).Comment

Re: Xbox One
This entire PS4 vs XBone is silly - (and I will always call it XBone even after I purchase my own because that is their folly and its always going to make me laugh)
. And I am really pretty tired of people saying that if I want an XBone that Im an idiot... Anyway, the way I see it, all of the people who have any issue at all with these new MS policies (even I have some problems with some of the policies) are going to ultimately be sad sacks. I say this because MS/Sony is just like everything else we have...its the ILLUSION of choice. Eventually, and it might take until the Middle or even END of this next console generation, but eventually they will have very similar if not identical policies regarding consoles. There will be minor differences AT BEST, at least in concept. Execution will most certainly be different - in other words, someones cloud tech will be better performing or their online service will shine over the other. And I have no idea which will be better - everything changes and with change comes good and bad. Some company's strength could turn into a weakness and vise versa.
So you folks on one side of the fence can boast and beat your chest today...and not long from now you will be standing on the same side as the rest of us. The only thing thats going to distinguish one from the other is the look of the console, the name on it, and its exclusives. Other than that, they will function almost the same with very slight nuances that one may prefer over the other. Sony has already mentioned several of the things that people are hating MS for. And somehow...the chest beaters haven't noticed.
This stuff is all a collaborative effort, its the industry its not just MS or Sony.
In the end, the game makers and the console makers are all on the same page.
Now...haters go on and keep hating. But please do me a favor and have the same enthusiasm for admitting how much of a tool you have been when your favorite console god screws you the way that you think the rest of us are being screwed...OK?Comment

Here are the acceptable reasons for choosing XB1 over PS4:
- You prefer the XB1 exclusives and you dont mind the DRM and Used/Rented Games issues.
- You prefer the system features like Kinect and the TV options and you dont mind the DRM and Used/Rented Games issues.
- You dont like Sony's game consoles and you dont mind the DRM and Used/Rented Games issues.
What is unacceptable is outright lies and mischaracterizations. There is NOTHING similar or identical when it comes to the DRM, Online check, Used Games or Rented games policies of these two systems.
One lets you rent games from companies like Gamefly...one doesnt.
One has online checks....one doesnt.
One has a clear used games policy...one doesnt.
One requires a camera at all time...one doesnt.
Now those things may not matter to you and thats fine but dont act like they are the same.Comment

You know whats just as bad as "haters"? People who paint themselves as "victims" because people are questioning the reasons behind their decision.

Re: Xbox One
Same if someone says "Halo is my favorite series ever and its the only game I play but I'm getting a PS4"
They dont have to respond but I can damn sure question it.Comment

Re: Xbox One
I'll be honest I have been staying out the X1 debates since it does not pertain to me anymore. I'm fully committed to the PS4 vision of continuing to stay with the tried and true method that gaming has survived on for 20 years.
Now with that said, I have a honest question for the X1 supporters. Do you feel as if the X1 will be able to beat the PS4 in sales numbers?
Reason I ask this is two fold. One, I rather game on the console that has the larger user base so I know online games will continue to have plenty of people online playing. Second, if it does end up losing by a large margin in total sales how does that affect the vision X1 is after when it comes to the future of gaming(online required, used games, DRM, camera monitored, etc)?Last edited by Phobia; 06-17-2013, 12:42 PM.Comment

Re: Xbox One
If I ask people in here for good reasons they are buying their XBones (or in the PS4 thread why they are buying their PS4s) there is nothing wrong with that. They don't have to respond, but the questions are allowed to be asked.
You act like your purchases (especially of consoles) have no effect on anyone else here. If I don't support what Sony/MS is doing and hate the direction either of them goes... Yes, I'm going to raise questions. I'm not gonna say "OH I LOVE X COMPANY ILL BUY WATEBER DEY SELL ME." If the XBone/PS4 doesn't sell, there are reasons behind it. If they sell like hotcakes, there are reasons behind it.
Supporting a company says you agree with their ideals and policies and don't care if they take it further in the future. The only way to speak with companies is with your money.
While the XBone doesn't directly pertain to me (because I won't buy one unless they make it as to where I don't need a Kinect), it does... It affects the hobby I spend 4+ hours damn near every day partaking in.Last edited by ubernoob; 06-17-2013, 12:43 PM.badComment

Re: Xbox One
Huh? I can question anyone's decision. If someone comes on here and says "I love MLB The Show and Baseball is my favorite sport but I'm gonna buy and XB1", I can ask why they would do that.

There's a difference between questioning decisions and outright calling people stupid for their decisions.
