I wish a new Mass Effect game was available at launch, still there will be plenty of other choices to begin the new gaming life cycle.

Perhaps they want to announce it at PAX Prime, which is being held in Seattle next week.

I think it has to do with supply, they need to be sure that they can fill all the preorders. If they can't fill them, I'm not sure what stores have in their contract, but they probably could get something back. Plus it would create a huge PR nightmare with people not getting it.

I was thinking this too, especially if the yield/production rumors are true. But I figured that was the reason they had to cut the list of countries for November release down by 8.

You can pre order in store at Walmart right now. I think the reason we have not got a release date is they wanted to wait it out and have Sony play their hand first. Now they know the PS4s release date they are probably tryna do everything possible to launch before November 15th. I would suspect they are in heavy talks with suppliers and who ever is actually manufacturing the console. We'll see but im gonna be a little shocked if they launch after the PS4. I mean its on a silver platter for them to grab some of the market first.

It's possible. But seeing as we know they're launching in November, I really dont see a week or 2 making a difference

It would definitely make a difference, impulse, can't wait buyers out there.

I doubt it happens, but if the bundle with CoD dropped it would make a monstrous difference for them.

Aren't most, if not all console sales preorders early on? It's going to be difficult to find a console on store shelves. So no, early on it shouldnt really mean much. Especially with as small of a possible time frame as two weeks.

Yes. But, I do know some stores that aren't taking preorders here locally.

Also, the sooner the Xbox One comes out more demand there will be for the console from "can't wait" gamers out there to try and get one from Ebay or other places online.

I have a Xbox One preordered but I can't help but think that this console is going to be hit with a lot of problems early on just like the 360. How many think this same thing?

While it's probably best to wait for the first batch to clear before getting a new console just in case there are any problems, Microsoft surely has the RROD issue in the back of their minds. Its why they designed the console to be so large; to have a lot of space for air/fans so that it is efficiently cooled and won't run into the same kind of problems. They lost a ton of money having to replace people's 360s and they dont want to have to do it again with the xbox one.

you should probably know that it only needs to be online 1 time, and then never again if you want.

I think he's talking about how they flip-flopped their stances on those 2 things in particular.

For what it's worth, I expect both the PS4 and XBone to have their fair share of issues with early batches. There always are with these things as we get into more and more "advanced" technology.

I'm hoping there isn't but if both systems have issues at launch, it will be of no surprise to me.

True but there are also people who preordered both consoles but will only get one at launch, I preordered both with the intention to cancel one at the last minute because I still don't know which one I want more, leaning to just getting both at launch right now due to the fact I was able to get some overtime at work to where I can get both easily now but I'm sure I wasn't the only one with that plan.

This is exactly what I did. I preordered both and plan on deciding if I want the Xbox One or not later on.

I've been a xbox guy this whole current gen but I just think PS4 will edge out Xbox One this time around. I also don't want to reward MS for the flip flopping they have done on this console. Ill eventually get a One but maybe not at launch.
