    Re: Xbox One

I feel alot more comfortable about my Bestbuy preorder after reading this. Seems pre orders WILL be taken care of before walk ins. You do not have to go to midnight release, they will hold your console for you (8 days for online orders with instore pickup, 5 days for in store orders).

It’s easier to do the right thing, than to explain why you didn’t.

I would like to first say that I'm not worried about the XB1 crashing when it comes to playing any of these launch games. There has been very few reports of it crashing on the tour. Even if this was the case. I'm sure MS is working on these problems before launch to put out a patch to fix this problem. Far as the COD Ghost been 720 at launch. Oh well if it is then it is. I will still play it. Not all the games that are at launch will be 720p. NBA2k14 will be 1080p as already confirmed. Has MS made some bad PR moves over the past few months or so and anger some fans. Yes. But what company doesn't have problems. People think PS4 is going to have a rose filled start. No one knows. That goes for both systems. I don't think no company is hiding nothing by not showing gameplay for the XB1. I think the main reason for all these games been showed on the PS4 is because it is the system of choice this time around from the start. So companies decided to show case the games for the PS4 instead. Same thing happen with the 360 vs ps3. So I'm not worried about no crashing of games and so on. If the system is not right. That's why it has a warranty in case something goes wrong. I'm looking forward to the launch on the 22nd of next month.

I'm wondering if the 1080p thing won't be glossed over in a few months anyway. I'm not a genius with this kind of stuff, but it's hard to believe developers wouldn't figure out a way to improve the resolution if they felt it was important. Like LK said, we know the system is capable of it.

Didn't the PS3 have the more powerful console with blu-ray and 360 had the RROD and yet MS still came out on top...

I will take XBL and my achievements/gamerscore over the PSN/trophy system any day of the week.

Only thing Sony had that I wish MS did was Last of Us and the Show, but two games is still not enough to make me buy Sony's console.

Going to go on the other side of this one. It is MS's fault if this is the case. From at least two people I've talked with they got the dev kits super late

On the PS4 rose filled start. It might not be rose filled but it will probably be smoother than X1 due to what I typed above.

That was because the 360 was easier to develop for and became the lead platform, meaning PS3 just got a bunch of ports from third parties. So far, it looks as if there may be a flip for Next-Gen.

With that being said, who the hell cares? Let's just enjoy our systems for the they will bring us...entertainment. Both consoles will achieve that for their customers. Period.

The 360 also had a year on the PS3 which was a HUGE deal in terms of sales.

You'd have to use your definition of coming out on top. Originally? Yes. By the end of the year that the PS3 was released, MS had sold about three 360's for every PS3 sold (that year when they were the only "next-gen" console at that point was huge.)

In the end? Meh. This is what I could find, it's pretty much a wash.

The colums are North America, Europe, Japan, Rest of World and Global (respectively.)

In terms of game sales? It's hard to say.

                (random series/games sales figures incoming.)

Now for large picture time. Top 20 game sales by console (thus far). Like the previous numbers given, doesn't include digital sales (which only really matters for a few of the newer games.) Also to note, Kinect Adventures! was packaged with the Kinect, so that tracks that bundle sale more than it does the sale of the actual game.

I want agree with you on that. Ps4 will have a little smoother start then XB1 will. But long term both systems will have a good future once all the bugs are work out of the system. Saying whether the PS4 is going to be bug free is hard to say. With new tech there can be a few problems with both consoles. But again both systems could have a heck of a good start and have no problems at all. Who knows right now until people start putting countless hours into playing the games on these new systems.

Far as game wise go. I can handle some games been 720p at first on XB1. I have no problem with that. Far as the crashing problem goes. I have yet to see anyone confirmed that is happening or anything. But if there is a problem. MS should know about it and working to fix it with an update patch for day one. Overall I hope both systems have a good start and do well. I'm the kind of person who doesn't care to fight about which system is better I just want to get it and have fun playing it.

This is what I dont get, both systems are basically identical, accept for Sony going with DDR5 opposed to MS DDR3, thats it. So can someone explain to me how based on different memory how that makes the PS4 surpierer?? Cause working in the technical field the last 14 years, the difference between DDR5 and 3 is not going to make a system that much more powerful.

So in this case, all 3rd party games will be basically twins.

The explanation I tend to get is always the same tired one that explains nothing. "GDDR5 is 10x faster than DDR3". That's all they say.

Well this is the way I see it. As time goes on MS always can update this in the systems are time goes on. People think DDR3 is going to be in the systems until NG5 comes out 8 years from now. MS might not do it for a few years. But maybe 3-4 years down the line they might be able to upgrade it. One never knows. I might wrong. But like with any product. You can upgrade it and make it better at time goes on.

thats true, it is faster ofcourse, but in the end, the only way it may make a difference is on first party games.

DDR5 equals better latency, higher frequencies. Look at graphics cards. Now days, any good one, even some bad ones at DDR5. It also has a higher bandwidth. Higher clock speed, more powerful console. Graphic cards with DDR5 can be over clocked compared to DDR3 which cannot. I don't know how hard it is for people to realize that teraflops has been measured and released and the numbers don't lie there. It's funny how people can actually believe they will be almost identical, especially after Call of Duty is in 720p compared to the PS4's 1080p.

Either way, I'm hoping the social features work on the Xbox. I'm basically just upgrading my DVR and getting it for Ryse and Titanfall.

While they have the same base APU(AMD Jaguar), the APUs are modified in a different way for each console. MS went with eSRAM(on board memory), while PS4 kept the more compute units(I think it's like 18 to 12 in favor of PS4). that gives the PS4 more potential in terms of performance. It still all comes down to developer implementation though.

Huge grain of salt indeed. VGChartz literally makes the numbers up. They would put their made up "sales numbers" on the site, then after the official ones are released they would edit it in and pretend like they had it correct the entire time.

Wired article, Why We Don't Reference VGChartz
In short, Carless verifies that VGChartz numbers are based mostly on rough guesses, not hard data. He points to the site’s treatment of Iron Man for the PlayStation 2, which VG Chartz had pegged at 53,000 copies — until NPD’s data came out with the game selling 130,000 copies. VG Chartz then edited its entry to a number closer to the NPD figure.

The site’s founder even admits to Carless that VG Chartz’ Metal Gear Solid 4 European sales numbers, which it breathlessly reported as hard fact in press releases to media outlets including Wired.com, were entirely invented: "It was based on first day Japan sales, first day America sales, and from that projecting for Europe / others which we didn’t get direct day 1 for."
