Can you adjust the size of Snap? I was playing the XboxONE over a friends house while watching NFL games via Snap. He has a 65" plasma and the Snap screen in which the football games were playing on was so small, we couldn't even see the score of the games. I was wishing we could adjust the size to make the Snap-in bigger? If not, do you think this is something they can patch in?

Yeah, even if they gave us only 3-4 pre-set sizes would be fine with me.Comment

Thanks. #1 is what concerns mean the most. That should not be happening, once you go through setup, you should never go through it again unless you go into TV settings. Do any other apps show this behavior? Are there other settings that don't seem to persist between reboots?
No other apps have any issues at all.

Re: Xbox One
Well just to clarify....when I turn on the Xbox One I see a picture of a TV...if I say "Xbox Watch TV" or click on the window then it begins the TV setup as if I was setting it up for the first time ever.

When I first set it up I had trouble getting the signal to recognize in the Xbox, but I unconnected and reconnected and I haven't had a problem since.
I do notice that it's tougher to get the Xbox to recognize "Xbox On" vs. any other command, but that's probably because the Kinect processor isn't as powerful in low power mode.Nintendo Switch Friend Code: SW-7009-7102-8818Comment

Weird...when I turn on the Xbox One the TV is in the main window, and then when I say "Go To TV" it takes my cable full screen.

Re: Xbox One
Yeah, it sucks because I was bragging up the TV aspect to everyone on Facebook and how well it worked. Guess I jinxed myself. Having it on HDMI 2 as a game only device feels like it's crippled. I can't imagine why anyone would use it that way if they didn't have to.

Re: Xbox One
This is so weird and not something we've run across. Does it only happen on reboots? What if you have TV playing, go home, hit menu->quit, do something else, then launch TV again?
And this just started recently, it hasn't happened the whole time? And you're always signed in as yourself?
I then DO get a picture and audio. However if I play a game or turn off the Xbox and come back in then I'm back at the "Starting TV setup" screen.
So i know the HDMI IN VIDEO actually does work.....it seems my tv app is corrupted perhaps..
It worked great from Christmas until last night....Last edited by ODogg; 12-30-2013, 09:15 PM.Streaming PC & PS5 games, join me most nights after 6:00pm ET on TwitchTV https://www.twitch.tv/shaunh20

Re: Xbox One
Well each time I start it I get the "Starting TV Setup" screen. Then it says the "A new way to watch..." screen. I click start...it takes me to the screen where it says "Looking for your TV picture" I hear audio but see no video. My options are back or skip. If I select skip then it asks about the oneguide...I select ok on that screen.
I then DO get a picture and audio. However if I play a game or turn off the Xbox and come back in then I'm back at the "Starting TV setup" screen.

Re: Xbox One
Prior to the factory reset I just spent an hour and 36 minutes on the phone with Microsoft support and let me just say that, I don't expect much out of support people but this was a particularly laughable event.
First of all, the lady I reached seemed blown away that I had been able to "figure out how to watch TV through the Xbox" and told me that it wasn't possible to do that unless I had an app like FIOS or something. I told her I was using the TV app that came with the system. She didn't seem to believe it had ever worked and when I told her it had she wanted me to contact DirecTV. About the Microsoft Xbox One TV app. LMAO. I just played along and was nice (although I was pretty pissed at the stupidity) then next when she triumphantly declared that "it's an internet issue" and had me spend 20 minutes resetting all of my router/modem/switches. Which I did anyways as they need periodically reset and just to humor her. This lady was nice and seemed to want to help but several times admitted she couldn't follow where I was at in the Xbox One because my screen didn't match her "simulator". Why in the world wouldn't Microsoft give these people actual Xbox Ones? Afraid they'll play too much on the job perhaps?? LOL
Anyways, after about an hour of complete and utter waste of time she referred me to DirecTV again, concluding it had really nothing to do with the Xbox One. I asked her to please check with her supervisor. He came on the phone and again told me to call DirecTV and that my equipment was "probably out of date". At this point I got a bit annoyed and told him NOTHING in my house was out of date, I had a PS4 sitting there by my Xbox One and my satellite box was a recent DirecTV Genie HR34-700 that I had just got this past summer.
So after a bunch of questions that really I had no idea where they came from he though maybe I should try turning around the Xbox One HDMI cord and trying it the other way.... Heh... So I did...then I asked him if I could delete the TV app and reinstall it. He told me that was a good idea and to just go ahead and do that, seemingly as if he wanted to end the call. So I went to the app but there's no uninstall option for it. He was adamant there was but I told him there definitely was not.
After all this time I just was at the end of my rope. I told him "can I just factory reset it?" and he said "Yes that is what you should do.." then I confirmed I wouldn't lose my Forza, Lego and Ryse saves, he said I wouldn't.
Get off the phone, do the re-install of the OS, about 5 minutes later after putting in my passwords and stuff I'm back to normal.
Oh my oh my, how I wish I'd just done that to begin with. I have a headache now...LOL
Now I have dealt with a lot of support people and have been one myself so don't get me wrong, I know they usually are trying their best. And these two folks I spoke with were patient and diligent and friendly. But they just didn't seem to have much of a clue.
However, that didn't annoy me...what *DID* annoy me is them wanting to pass it on to DirecTV. Microsoft cannot expect to become king of the living room if they just want to pass the buck on everything to the other vendors they are connecting their Xbox One too. There's no doubt whatsoever this was a Microsoft issue and Microsoft issue alone.
Seriously, if I'd called DirecTV they would have laughed at me if I asked why I wasn't getting any HDMI video from my Xbox One HDMI-in port during setup but could see it otherwise. LMAO...
So bottom line, if your TV app corrupts, save yourself a LOT of hassle and just reset your Xbox One to factory defaults....it will save you a lot of aggravation and a headache like I've got now...Streaming PC & PS5 games, join me most nights after 6:00pm ET on TwitchTV https://www.twitch.tv/shaunh20

Re: Xbox One
Oh man, I am so sorry. I spent 3 days down in a call center, and I can understand why this happened. The Xbox call centers are actually really nice, but you still get people from all backgrounds there, many of them aren't technical and don't know much about the Xbox One.
It's possible she didn't get any training (which is bad) or that she didn't pay attention. It's also likely that she just read from a script or you got directed to the wrong support (360 support, not One support).
I'm glad the factory reset fixed it. With other apps, you can re-install them, but like IE, TV is part of the system, so the only way to do that is via factory reset.
I communicate regularly with some of our top tier call center agents, and I'll let them know what happened here so they can prevent it from happening again.?The Bulgarian Brothers - a story of two brothers (Oggy and Dinko) as they coach in the NCAA and the NBA.

Re: Xbox One
And my Kinect is already dead. Awesome.
EDIT:
So my Kinect is already dead after 5 days of ownership. I was sitting there watching TV and it just went off. I followed all the tips on the Xbox service site and it wont come back on.
Awesome. I know its not necessary to have it, but Im pretty pissed that it died in less than a week. Im also pissed that if I want it back in less than 2 weeks or so I have to pay for expedited shipping or let them put $100+ dollars on hold with my bank. I know...first world problems.
I was really enjoying this system until about 30 minutes ago...
Did the expedited shipping for $11.00. Im not letting them put a $129 hold on my bank account for a week for the super expedited return thing. I dont have a lot of faith in the MS return/repair center after my 26 day repair return for my 360. (well, it was a 26 day trek for them to send me ANOTHER defective unit that I had to send back and wait another 28 days to get that one back even though the repair center in McAllen, TX is only 376 miles from my house)
So, to summarize: Bought my Xbox One on the 26th, Kinect crapped out on the 31st. 5 days. The best part is going to the Xbox.com support forums and seeing the massive amount of people reporting the same issue. Listen, I know its not a deal breaker and that I really dont have to have the kinect, but after doing some searching on the internet, it seems like this is a pretty big issue.
As long as I can still play my games I'm fine, but to have a part of my new system die within 5 days is a bit troubling.Comment
