I might be joining the next-generation sooner than expected. Wasn't planning on buying until this fall *cough*NHL*cough*, but had an interesting conversation with the wife that makes me think her and my family are pitching in for a XBO for my birthday next weekend

I'm really enjoying the Xbox One functionality. Last night, I was in the middle of a BF4 match when my wife called and asked me to record a couple of shows on the DVR. I simply waited until I died, snapped TV, set up the DVR, unsnapped, then deployed back into the match. Love it!

That was just for last year. Its expected that NHL 15 will be on next gen.

They haven't officially announced NHL15 for next-gen, but I'm pretty sure it's coming. All they said officially was that NHL14 was current-gen only.

Yeah, no way NHL 15 doesn't come to next gen....They just didn't have time (or care enough) to push it out for this gen.....Probably not as profitable a game as Madden or Fifa so wouldn't be worth it.

Seriously, I don't know if it's EA or the XB1 but the clips that get uploaded via Upload Studio look like CRAP. They look worse than the 360 uploads. And what's up with the streaming news? This was one feature I was really looking forward to. I'm very disappointed that it hasn't been implemented yet.

If the "xbox on" functionality actually worked it would be a great addition to the TV room. I eventually got fed up with it working 20% of the time and hooked the cable box back to the tv. They dropped the ball on this function! It's terrible IMO.

It works for me within the first 3ish tries, but I have to be closer to the Kinect I think.

It never works for my wife. She just uses the controller usually.

I do wish it could pick up that stuff a little better for sure.

Weird, I don't think I have ever had to say xbox on more than once without it working. Must need some ironing out with different voices/accents.

Yeah, we try pausing and stuff and works better for me.

Once Xbox One is on it recognizes us way better.

Is it just that it doesn't recognize "Xbox On", or that your devices don't successfully turn on? I can try to help with both.

Neither works for me MOST of the time. It might work for 3 consecutive times then it stops. Only work around is to unplug the xbone then plug it back in. After that it works 2 to 3 more times and then stops. Sorry if grammer is bad I'm on my phone.

It just became a nuisance having to do this to watch my tv. It's better off not hooking the directv box to the xbone.

I have found that if there is any background noise in the room (like the TV is on), "Xbox on" command doesn't work for me. It is strange because while watching TV, the other commands work just fine once it is on. Actually, even when the room is quiet it doesn't work for me either if I haven't turned my xbox on in a while.
