    Re: Xbox One

Just business as usual in the console world, it's why I'll probably get Infinity and Destiny for PS4 if/when I pick them up, Sony paid for exclusives.

It's why I own both of the next gen consoles.

Seems more to me that the majority (PS4 owners) are whiny when MS finally does to Sony what Sony's been doing to MS for a while. No one's crying that "No Man's Sky" (or whatever the name is) is a Sony exclusive....

      Am I off base here?

I guess for me it isn't the third party aspect that bothers me. No mans sky and sunset overdrive doesn't bother me. I think it's existing IP that has always been on multiple platforms and was just brought back to life recently. It's a shame that a cash grab is going to block people from continuing the franchise. Not everyone will want to own both.

I have an xbox so it's not like I'm bitter because I only have a ps4.

Destiny isn't nearly the same thing. They have timed content. They're not blocking the entire game.

Yeah, I agree with you honestly, I am not a fan of tons of exclusives. Why weren't people as up in arms with Dead Rising 3 then? I dunno...seems like if Sony did this everyone applauds, given how Sony can do no wrong and MS can do no right.

It's pretty close. Timed exclusivity on expansions upwards of a year in an MMO is pretty brutal. There were reports last year that Sony had 21 developers working on exclusive content for the PS4 and there are rumors that we'll hear of potentially multiple 3rd party exclusives at their presser today.

This is all business as usual.

Destiny is more comparable to cod giving Microsoft dlc early. Ps4 owners can't even buy this game. Much different IMO.

No you are 100% correct on this. There are more PS4 users at the moment so their voices of frustration are loudest.

Same for the Madden Demo thing. If EA access was on both consoles nobody would scream that EA is hiding the game by not releasing a demo. It is just Sony only fans mad that they got no EA because Sony felt they cared to much for the gamer and decided to make a decision for them

MS is doing great things for their fans. It is a business move by MS to get back into the long race as this is not a sprint.

If so, it pretty much means it can only be a hard drive, not a USB stick itself like on the 360 (which was limited anyways).

Or is it possible for me to unhook my external HD from the XB1, connect it to my computer, copy AVI/MP3 files to it and then plug it back into the XB1 for it to play the media files and still store game content?
I think we will see USB stick support, but using an external drive for game content AND media is unlikely.

Don't think it's still Sony exclusive though. It's a timed exclusive also coming to PC. Anyways, I'm glad we got Tomb Raider, I still want a 3rd Person Perfect Dark in 2016

Yeah, but you get my point I think....we didn't know it was coming on PC for months after E3 either.

                        Re: Xbox One

                        Quick Question.

With this new Xbox One update rolling out, and the "Media Player – a new app will be available soon that enables users to play media files from either an attached USB device or from a network connected home media server that supports DLNA protocols. The preview version of the Media Player app will initially only support USB devices, with DLNA support coming soon. Xbox One will support more formats than Xbox 360, including support for dozens of new file formats like mpeg 2 TS, animated gifs and mkv which will be added by the end of the year."

Does this mean that for games such as NHL 15 that are coming out soon, that we'll be able to add our own music to games like that due to this update?

                        Thanks!

Only if EA creates an in game option for that and I dont think its likely. Probably NHL 16.

I think you need to stop acting like MS gets no credit for anything they do, and that Sony can do no wrong.

Plenty of people (myself included, even if I think the thing itself is stupid) rightfully gave Sony plenty of **** over the EA Access fiasco. Plenty of places said Sony had a poor e3 and that MS had a better showing. The rhetoric that MS can do no right/Sony no wrong should probably stop... if I'm being honest it just makes you come off as bitter about the whole thing and I know that's not what you are trying to do/portray.

Nobody really cared/cares about Dead Rising 3... because it's Dead Rising 3.

Good for MS as a business move with Tomb Raider. ****ty of them and Square in general. Doesn't effect me much as I haven't played/been interested in a Tomb Raider since the original.

Again just a case of Sony having more varied exclusives from first/second party developers and Microsoft using money to secure something third party. It's absolutely par for the course. People just have problems with it now that it's a bigger series people have been playing on PlayStation since its inception.

In short, I think people are rightfully upset. I also think people on the other side are correct if they don't think this is a big deal.

Good points, and MS is getting more credit. I'm not bitter, I just honestly believe that if Sony did this the complaints would be 25% of all the anger that's out there (see this link).

I do think the mindset is slowly starting to get back towards even vs. the sever Sony Gamer slant lately, you're right. I do just believe that if Sony did this it wouldn't generate anywhere near the anger (but still some anger for sure) that MS got. I don't think that's being bitter, I think that's just because Sony's the majority and they have more good will lately.
