    Re: Xbox One

Picked up an Xbone last nite after work. I wanted to hold out for the white one on tuesday but i had the bug and a bunch of free time this weekend so i took the plunge. I may return it for the white one on tuesday.

I love this system. I know it doesnt have the specs of PS4 but i dont really care. After not seeing the point of Kinect at first i got it all hooked up with my cable box and i was able to play 2K and watch the world srs last nite at the same time. I wish you could snap the tv screen a little bigger but it works for just keeping an eye on the score and listening.

Really love the Xbone, this will be my console this gen.

Haven't seen any hints of that this gen thus far. Even Halo's 20gb patch wouldn't take that long for me w/ Cox doubling their internet speeds every other week it seems.
I for one hate the need to download massive sized updates while installing a game to play it. The halo one is going to kill me. If it wasn't such a a good value to get all those titles for the XB1 in one package, with all the visual upgrades, Id say screw it. a 20gb download just to play here is going to take me overnight, and more. Some of us just dont live in area's where the crazy high speeds are possible. It's really frustrating to me to get home from work, pop in the disc. I'm ok with the install time, but when I get hit with the theres a ??? GB update to download, it basically tells me, I'm not playing this game tonight, I'll have to check it out tomorrow likely. Really frustrating.

I don't have an Xbox one yet, but don't you have the ability to download game updates while the console is in standby mode?

In theory, I've yet to see this really work well on either console so far this gen.

At Best Buy this week, you can get Gamers Club Unlocked for $30 with any new game purchase over $40. Gamers Club has a few benefits but the big one is 20% off new games, including games that are on sale, for two years.

            The program is usually $120.

Guys, would you recommend spending the extra $100 for Kinect? I really would rather not spend the extra money as I have no plans on ever using motion controls while gaming. Does voice command and all that still work without it?

Definitely buying XB1 on Black Friday, but am still confused as to if Kinect is something I truly need to spend the extra money for. Like I said already, I'd rather save the extra money if I'm not missing out by doing so.

All I will be using the XB1 for is Netflix, Skype, and occasionally for gaming. Other than that I don't see us using any of the other capabilities. I'm torn on which way to go.

Woohoo!!! Will be buying an Xbox One sooner rather than later. Was going to wait until a year or so from now but I work at Kohl's and they sell Xbox One consoles. All I have to do is wait for the employee discount to go from 15% to 30% and I'll be able to purchase an Xbox One for $280 plus tax which is too good to pass up. Once this happens, all I have to do is wait for Wii U to drop to $200 and I'll have all three consoles. Yay me!!!

Buy the Kinect with it. If you don't then you are just missing the best features of the Xbox One.

I had one without Kinect for like a month bc I thought I didnt want it. I have a Kinect now and its great. Spend the extra dough its worth it imo.

Thanks for the replies everyone. I guess having Kinect is the way to go. Was just curious to see what the OS community thought. Personal friends of mine have the same feedback. Go w/ the Kinect bundle.

Really wish Microsoft hadn't made the Halo bundle exclusive to Brazil. Thought it would be a sure fire thing here in the states for the holiday. Oh well.
