    Re: Xbox One

You want them to give you 55 bucks back for a 60 dollar game? Essentially renting a game for 2-3 weeks for 5 bucks? I can't see how they could do that.

As originally designed, you would have been able to buy and trade games as you do now, while not having to switch discs or even have any disc in the drive to move from game to game.

It's a bit more than a 'going digital' discussion. Much more innovative.

Yea but it was like 10% or whatever. I can take moving 6 feet if it means I get around 50% back on my games. I messed up with my op. I was looking at something else to tell my buddy and accidentally typed it here.

I agree on the pricing, but still feel that's the future eventually.

The publishers and everyone will eventually have to offer better prices digitally.

I honestly wouldn't be surprised to see them adopt Amazon's strategy. Where you get 20% off for the first 2 weeks after release by having Xbox Live or PS+.

That's something else. Was just a poll. What I described and what the thread was discussing was the original intention of the Xbox One and would let you use games as you do today, but with retail purchases enjoying all the benefits of digital.

Social features are down, meaning you can check what friends are doing and parties are not working. Hopefully this gets fixed soon

I do this with BB Gamers Club all the time. Buy new Game for $47.99. Play for a week. Trade In Value $42 back with 10% included.

Whats even better is when it comes with a $10 Certificate. Then they basically pay you a small amount if you can return it same week.

This is all with physical copies obviously. I've often said the most dangerous thing BB could do to my wallet is offer that 20% off digital also. I'd never buy physical again probably.

I do the same thing but the trade in values have decreased from what they used to be at launch. Quantum Break started at $35.00 base which still isn't bad in my opinion and more than GameStop. I received $38.50 for the game when I traded it in so I paid $9.50 (excluding tax) for the game for two weeks. That's not bad at all.

The Division was even better. Including the $15 I received in points (reward cert), the 20% off and getting $29.70 in credit, the game cost me $3.30 (excluding tax) for five weeks of play time. How can I possibly refuse that?

Unless you're a collector or have plans to keep replaying the same game over and over, I just don't see the positives in digital. With a little bit of luck in regards to trade in values, I may not have to spend any money on a game until the fall.

Since I purchased the Xbox One bundle last November, I have only paid money for two games - Dying Light Enhanced Edition and Gravity Rush Remastered for PS4 and the only reason was because Best Buy didn't get DL until the end of February and GRR was exclusive to Amazon.

I traded DL to GameStop and used that credit for a PSN card. Sold GRR on neogaf for a $20 PSN card. Even when I spend money, im consistently getting something in return that makes GCU 100% worth it. Hell, even having to used Amazon Prime for those two games still turned out to be a positive.

None of the stuff I do could ever be done with digital games. As for any publisher giving you fair value in the future for a digital license, I don't see that happening.

Simply, for me the positives far outweigh the negatives in regards to physical vs digital. And thinking about it, the only positive for me digitally is not getting up from my couch but saving money is far more important, at least to me anyway.

I think it works great IF you play games quickly and finish them. With a family, it can take months and months to finish a game

Exactly! I pick a few games and make myself beat them. I can't sit and game all weekend, I'm lucky to get 6 hours a week max right now
