I agree with that but NMS was reviewed by someone else where as the same reviewer who gave Forza Horizon 3 a 4/10 also gave

It's one thing to not like a game, but when you question the developers heart and effort while not even getting the games genre right, it's something completely different. It's pretty obvious just based on the reviews that they added a lot of effort into this game.

Their review comes off as uneducated. I think that's fairly obvious. You shouldn't be reviewing games you don't understand.

I know the least about Forza Horizon 3 (and the series/franchise in general) here but even I can't see myself giving the game anything lower than a 7/10. For me personally, a 7/10 is at the very least, a playable, decent, solid game but just not to the good, great, excellent mark. So for the game to get a 4/10 is just insane. To me, 5/10 is an average game but you start going under 5/10, that means the game either sucks, is horrible or just completely broken and unplayable. For example, I would rate Knack a 6/10. It's an above average, very generic, basic and straight forward game. It didn't do anything new or innovative. Regardless, you can see a lot more new stuff and innovation in Forza Horizon 3 so the review itself and score just makes no sense and if anything, is an insult to the game and the developer.

I honestly believe some of those smaller review sites like that just throw out shock ratings for clicks. I wonder how many have seen that score and went and read it just to tear it apart.

They probably don't care people are tearing it apart because they already got their click. And clicks equal money.

I usually avoid outlier scores for that reason. Than again I try to stick to gaming sites that I know and read what they write and ignore the score. Because sometimes those don't even really seem to match up. Because I've read several reviews and though they liked it and nothing really seemed wrong and boom a low score. And read another where many elements weren't polished and struggles to do anything right and there is a high score.

Again, it could just not be the game for him. I'd probably give a couple of the Mass Effects and almost all of the Gears of War games a 5/10 max. I also know they aren't for me.

At the end of the day, it doesn't matter at all. Not everyone has to like every game.

That's not a true statement. I would give the Forza Motorsport games a 7 or lower for just about all of them. They bore me to tears, nothing to do in them, just go from track to track rinse and repeat. Same with Gran Turismo games. I need racing games to have life to them.

Forza Horizon is a fantastic series though.

But even with that, you never know what the future would bring, can't say that there won't ever be a bad one. Turn 10 has a proven track record though and I give you that.

Its ok to not like games. Nobody is saying otherwise but it doesn't mean a review needs to be taken seriously that you would do for a game you don't like. If you don't like a gears game and have a pre conceived notion that it can't get more than a 5 then you shouldn't be reviewing it. If you don't like sports games don't review them. If you don't like or understand arcade racers don't review them.

Just beat FH1 last night and after 100 hours with FH2, I am ready. These are my most played games along with Destiny and the Witcher 3.
