      Awesome. Been wanting to see it.

      I wonder if you had to preorder from Microsoft.

        Pretty cool. Too bad they don't participate in Movies Anywhere yet. Some are worried the movies section is going to be shut down our outsourced. Seems it was recently moved to the rewards program or something (the name on your statement when you buy something changed).

        They participated with Disney Anywhere, it's why I have a few dozen titles in it, hopefully they pick up the rest.

          Really? People are worried the Microsoft movies section is going away?

            Also was obviously talking globally with the sunset\mlb comparison. Just shows it’s not really worth the effort and cost for licenses/dev time etc. Especially when talking about building a game from the ground up. I would much rather Microsoft focus on other things.

            Sony absolutely destroyed the market for a console baseball game. The game got so sim it became boring as hell. Worse, it gets so much praise that people are shamed into either appreciating it or just skipping the sport altogether.

            Baseball games sold much, much better before Sony’s little things.

            I think there is a path forward, but it is by going anti-Show. It needs to feel bombastic and huge. It can still be simmish, but the gameplay needs look and feel more visceral.

            Would be super awesome if Super Mega grabbed a license and made an MLB game in its style.

              It’s just like every sports game for me. I only buy them every couple of years since there are usually not enough changes year-to-year for me to buy. Too many other good games out there.

                Same here. I won’t buy the show again until I see a huge improvement over 17.

                  My biggest complaint with The Show is how boring the pitcher-hitter dynamic is.
                  Especially the pitching portion.
                  You can either choose the option to press a button to deliver a pitch (is there anything more boring than this?) or go the Pulse or Analog route.
                  But using either Pulse or Analog is boring because the controls (or lack thereof) are not linked to the pitchers attributes or current situation.
                  Shouldn't the pulse interval be a lot slower for a pitcher who has a highly rated Curveball? Or if he has max stamina and it's a situation where there's nobody on base?
                  On the flip side, the interval should be a lot faster if the pitcher has a low rated CB, has next to no energy left, and he's been getting roped and the bases are juiced?

                  Then you have the hitting mechanics.
                  Doesn't matter if Bartolo Colon is up to bat. Go ahead and guess Fastball. He has just as great a chance in guessing correctly as Altuve.
                  Huh?

                  And this is why I enjoyed 2K baseball to The Show.
                  Hitters Eye was awesome.
                  (something SCEA said they'll never implement because it's unrealistic - but Guess Pitch is?)
                  It really separated the elite hitters from the good hitters and especially the poor hitters.

                  And 2K's pitching was awesome.
                  I recall many games where my pitcher was shaken and I had to pitch out of a jam with the curser all over the place and the analog timing window giving me no more than a nano-second to complete the motion.

                  I had a game where my pitcher got hurt after throwing a pitch and I decided to gut it out.
                  The only pitch I could throw with any accuracy was my fastball because the motion for any breaking stuff was much too quick to complete with any competence.

                  I could bore people for days on this topic.
                  But to get to the point, baseball is all about the pitcher-hitter battle.
                  This has to the most entertaining aspect of the onfield gameplay, IMO
                  And that's where I believe SCEA fails to truly capture the beauty of the sport.

                  And as you stated, if you dare say anything negative about that game, you are considered a heathen of the first order who clearly has no semblance of baseball knowledge.

                    I love the show and play the game from release to release. However, I would definitely welcome another baseball game on the Xbox one to the market. Competition is good for us consumers.

                        The yearly, month long, launch issues are getting old, especially when they stream every day prior to launch, and then go silent once the game launches with issues.

                        I'd like to say that I would support another baseball title, but my hours with sports titles have decreased significantly.

                            I love this philosophy. When I get around to buying the games, they feel so updated and exciting and I often play them for 2ish years. For example here's my sports games purchases.

                            CHoops 2K8 -> NBA 2K16
                            FIFA 07 -> FIFA 15
                            Football Manager 13 -> Football Manager 18
                            Madden 07 -> NCAA 10 -> Madden 13

                            All of those purchases felt like a pretty big deal. When I get around to getting Madden again, maybe in 2019 or something, I'm sure it'll be awesome.

                              I know no one loves Kinect anymore and it's dead and all, but question on Xbox commands vs. Cordova. We don't use Cordova at all for anything else, and it seems like it takes FOREVER to register hearing us sometimes.

                              Can I just go to the options and go back to Xbox ones, and it'll work for basic stuff like On, Turn Off, and channels and whatnot?

                                CHoops 2K8 -> NBA 2K16
                                FIFA 07 -> FIFA 15
                                Football Manager 13 -> Football Manager 18
                                Madden 07 -> NCAA 10 -> Madden 13

                                All of those purchases felt like a pretty big deal. When I get around to getting Madden again, maybe in 2019 or something, I'm sure it'll be awesome.
                                That Basketball College to Pro jump would be like going from an Am Radio to Sirius Radio 🤣🤣🤣🤣
