Re: OS Steam and Computer Gaming Thread
So I'm curious...I haven't been big into PC gaming since I was younger and it was a lot more simple lol.
I'd like to get back into it because there's a **** ton of PC games I want to play...but I'm a complete noob and the options seem overwhelming now.
So basically, is it possible nowadays to build or buy a $400-$600 rig that will ease me back into it?? I'm not looking for a graphically tour de force or anything and honestly I have a lot more interest in smaller indie games, MOBAs, MMOs, RTS', etc.
I know I can always upgrade and improve...just looking for my first step in.Patrick Mahomes > GodComment

Depends on what you need. If you have a mouse, keyboard, and monitor then you can come close to building a rig for around $600.So I'm curious...I haven't been big into PC gaming since I was younger and it was a lot more simple lol.

Cheap case = $50
8 gigs of ram = $50
AMD proc FX-6300 = $100
Motherboard = $50 to $60
video card GTX 960 = $200
Power supply = $50 to $100
Hard Drive 1TB = $50
SSD 250GB Not needed = $80 to $150
I'd personally bump up the video card spending to $300 and get the GTX970 though. You will be a little light on the processor side, but if you are not planning on streaming or video recording it would be fine for just playing games. It just won't be a multitasking power house.Comment

Obviously proc, motherboard, and video card will be your main things which will determine your PC speed and capability. Adjusting those based on your budget to suit your needs.Comment

You're in for a treat since building PC's the last few years have gotten so much easier than what it used to be 15+ years ago.So I'm curious...I haven't been big into PC gaming since I was younger and it was a lot more simple lol.

Re: OS Steam and Computer Gaming Thread
I built my last PC this past June and I have to say it was one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. There was a few bumps in the process but nothing feels better than building your own and hearing it start up when you press the power button.Comment

Only game I'm hoping to see go on sale which I'll grab is SQUAD. I find a $40 early access launch price is a little steep, but I'll bite if its closer to $30.Comment

Re: OS Steam and Computer Gaming Thread
I doubt it gets that much of a discount (if any) considering it just hit Early Access now. Doubt they would drop the price in a week even with it being the Winter sale.Member of The OS Baseball Rocket Scientists AssociationComment
