Target does not charge me $50 a year to go into their stores and shop

I did not give Sony huge issue last time since we did not pay for online service

Now they are so regardless of the excuses this is happening to Sony right now and we might have 2 days of no access

It will then affect Madden pre download

I am shocked that many here are acting like no big deal when you are now being charged 50 a year

Sony is not the only one it happened to recently. Take your 50 and go somewhere else. No one is holding you hostage. It's a ddos attack.

Well I pay $125 a month for my Directv, and it goes out during bad storms - and if it's a huge system that last 12-18 hours, it typically means a lot of lost reception. Things happen - my opinion only, not meant towards you

Sony is not the only one it happened to recently. Take your 50 and go somewhere else. No one is holding you hostage. It's a ddos attack.

So you are telling me that Sony is the victim here and we cant say anything because is Sony and they are being victimized when they are now charging for the PSN service and do not implement DDos protection for this to not be affected?

Sony does have DDoS protection, and they have filtered as much as they can, but the DDoS is attacking Sony's ISP and they have no control over that.

MS is harder to DDoS because Microsoft can sit Live on a server farm that has multiple backbone connections because they can piggyback Live on another service. They tried, and did, bring Live to it's knees, but it's obvious they can't sustain the attack on PSN and Live.

Also, as to the Anonymous guy, the Lizard whatever ****nuts doxxed him (probably him and his dad since he is like 15) and posted all his info on facebook.

There isn't.

Has happened to pretty much any large company at some point.


Ever had trouble trying to log into your banks website but can't because of a ddos attempt? Same thing and it happens pretty frequently.

They can always try to make it harder but its pretty much impossible to stop completely. Pretty much any person with above average computer or programming skills can do this. A recursive loop and a big enough system with the right information can get through anywhere eventually. Look at how many times SPAM makes it onto OS. With a DDOS attack they are not trying to hack into the system, they have a bot or several programs running on dozens of computers that are just constantly logging on to a server. Get his running at a couple of millions times every few seconds and a system crashes. Unless you shut down log in, which essentially achieves their goal for them, it pretty impossible to stop once it starts until the system just cant take it and shuts off.


ps In all honesty you could probably do it with one computer if could hyperthread a dedicated link and hide your IP
