I've never taken the last played disc out of my PS4 or any disc based system for that matter and have never had any issues.

Yeah, if that's leading to issues that unit needs to be refurbed or replaced, certainly not intended.

How are you turning it off? I only get that message on the few rare occasions where the system hard locks and I had to pull the plug (a few times on The Show and twice on The Last of Us)

I just hit the playstation button and then hit the bottom option which is turn off the system.

Rebuilding data base?
Anyone know why I am getting this message now each time I turn on my ps4?
It also tells me the ps4 was not turned off properly each time I turn it on.
I am simply turning it off the same way I always have.
It then asks me if I would like to report the problem each time.
Not sure what is going on, it's been doing it for about a month or so.

I get that 9 out of 10 times I put my ps4 into rest mode. I've just been dealing with it.

That's awful, I'd take that up with support for sure if you haven't already. Seems like an error or bricking waiting to happen.

I think it has something to do with my crappy a/v receiver, a Denon E400. I used to love Denon, but this receiver has been a lemon for me. It can't handshake properly with the PS4 or my Wii U so I have to power it off and back on each time I turn it on in order to get the picture and sound right. It's not the end of the world because it takes like 5 seconds to do that, but it is annoying. Anyway, if I let the PS4 go all the way into rest mode to where the orange light comes on before I power off the receiver then the PS4 doesn't seem to have an error on start up as much.

I have a lemon Denon also, network card prevents clean HDMI handshaking so we have to we have to turn it off and in when we change inputs.

Yes. It's like it says - They're forcing everyone to change their passwords out of security concerns. Their twitchsupport twitter put the word out yesterday, and they've been emailing individuals too.

Everybody with a Twitch account will get or has gotten that email.

I'm really starting to get enraged by these hacks and security breaches because it seems like these companies aren't doing anything to protect our information. That's not limited to gaming stuff, either -- Blue Cross/Blue Shield just got hacked recently and coughed up everyone's sensitive info. Nothing is safe anywhere so long as some dickhead wants it.

Its going to happen more this year watch.

Probably wont stop until they do something about it.

I didn't realize it wasn't really general external HDD support, it's just the ability to backup/restore games and settings to/from an external drive.

Has there been any indication that install to hdd is coming?

Due the the ease of exchange and accessibility of the system's HDD, I don't suspect it's too high on their list. I could be wrong, but I think they are denying that feature as protection from possible piracy and/or software hacking.

Still no DLNA or friends online/offline notifications.

The PS Vita has online/offline notifications yet a next gen console like that PS4 doesn't? The thing has been out for a year and a half now...
