I'm buying a Vita this weekend it looks like.

Question for anyone who may know, and if it was mentioned already my apologies.

Will my Sony Golds be compatible while playing this way?

The ball is a touch small due to the smaller screen (and not over-brightened up like the actual Vita version is), but that can be corrected with a camera change.

I'm seriously grinning ear to ear right now with how this works. To make sure it's in 60 FPS AND the direct PS4 connection, you need to confirm two options. One on the Vita's PS4 Link Settings "Video Quality For Remote Play" should be on High. On the PS4's Remote Play Connection Settings screen, "Connect Directly with PS Vita/Vita TV" needs to be checked. That's it, and if you're withing a short distance from the PS4 it should be the full console experience on the Vita (save for one thing....it disables video recording)
So should I go back to direct connect to the PS4 then? I only did internet before because direct connect to PS4 always had a horrible connection.

Looks like with this update direct is the way to go.

        I'm assuming anyways.

I don't understand what you are talking about with the direct connect to the PS4 from the Vita. Is this a new feature? I always started Remote Play from the Vita with that PS4 Link app, or whatever it was called. Is there some other way to do it?

When you check to enable remote play, there is a second box to check for direct connection. That makes the PS4 put out a wifi signal that the vita can connect to without going through a LAN, no need for a router.

Edit - so there are 3 options - direct connection (range of around 30 feet they say), LAN (connecting through the same ssid), and then through the internet. In the past around release, if you enabled direct connect you wouldnt be able to connect through the internet (or maybe it was a bug with my ps4/vita or whatever?) I don't know when it was updated (assuming I didnt have an issue with my hardware) but now you can leave direct connection on and still be able to connect through the internet too.

My last request would be if you leave direct connect on, before connecting it should check to see if you are on the same LAN and if so, choose the one with the better connection for situations where it can detect the PS4 signal but it is rather weak if you're a good distance away.

I always used direct connect. If it can't find a direct connection it would do wireless instead anyway, so you might as well leave the option checked.

Ah thanks. These are options on the PS4, not the Vita right? Probably why I haven't seen them because I think I enabled the Remote Play when I first got the PS4 and never looked at the settings again. I'm not sure what mine is set to. I know I have a heck of a hard time connecting to my PS4 from my Vita in my house. I wonder if I have mine set to Internet connection or Direct and just too far away?

Yup, they are in the PS4's Remote Play Settings menu or whatever it's called.

Always been a big fan of RP, and now it's just a little bit away from being as "perfect" as it can get. I thought the customized buttons would probably be that next part of the leap, but as I said for whatever reason this doesn't happen when you do RP, even though it does on PS4.

Two OS members need to try SharePlay, stat! Do these things apply to PS TV as well?

So does the new Slim Vita work better with RP than the launch one?

That's what I want to know also, if these improvements make PS TV a legitimate option for playing PS4 games in another room with no input lag I am SO getting a PS TV

I might have to buy a vita now

So with remote play can I be at my job and connect to my ps4 from there or do I hace to be I same house?

The update so far, with everything else, seems fantastic. Seems like the system in general is a little quicker as well

Connecting at work will all depend on your Internet connection at your job. I've tried Remote Play a few times from my office (8 miles away) and I can't get a stable connection and we have solid Internet here.

SO why did they disable recording of the game when using remote play? I used to use this feature all the time to create highlights. Now when I hit the share button all I can do is create a screen shot. What's the logic behind this?

Regardless....NBA2k 15 is like butter. It feels incredible and is smooth and responsive. But I wish I could record my highlights.

Have any issues at all been reported with the new suspend/resume feature? Seems pretty awesome on paper

So I can pause a game, out my system in rest, and boot back up right right into the game?
