Glad to see the update is coming tomorrow and is including backup support to HD. I bought a new hard drive to upgrade but was waiting for this update to be able to transfer my screenshots and videos to the new HD.Go Yankees

So we can enter rest mode now without closing the application and the game will stay where it is? Interesting.Comment

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
I will watch YouTube videos of this to see how quickly it resumes play and everything, to see if it's actually worth it. Not that I don't trust it yet, but I do not play 'guinea pig' with a $400 machine is all.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

It's either dumping memory and state data to the hard drive and restoring it once it wakes up or using enough power to keep the memory from being erased. Our computers have been doing it for quite some time. It's safe.Comment

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
Downloaded.
Cool thing about the button assignment thing is you can toggle it with the click of a button from the quick-menu. I'm having the shoulder buttons switched just in case. I don't really think I need anything else changed for that.
Tried 60 FPS Remote Play. Folks, you won't believe me when I tell you this.... framerate is cool and all, but ****ing forget framerate... input lag with TV is NEARLY ONE-TO-ONE! This is revolutionary, I am geeking out right now! I have to wake up in 90 minutes, and I do not want to sleep AT ALL! Combined with the 60 FPS??? Look out The Show! I hope SharePlay is the exact same with this.
Haven't tried to suspend my game yet, I will soon. Screw YouTube.Last edited by Blzer; 03-26-2015, 06:38 AM.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
Well, 60 FPS Remote Play on the Vita is real, and it's awesome. Any direct connection with the PS4 will be able to handle the bandwidth easily, running it through the internet connection will require a decent speed, though.
<s> Unfortunately, at least on my Vita it still suffers from that hint of video lag that makes it near impossible to play twitch reflex/reaction games like Pinball Arcade and The Show (Show MIGHT be possible by turning pitch speed way down). It's no different from when it was 30 FPS in that regard. It's hard to explain this effect, but it's easy enough to see if you have a Vita and can try it out. It's like you can use the Vita as strictly a controller, look at the TV screen instead of the portable one, and it's like you're playing on the actual system with no delay. But when you look down at the Vita instead of the TV and try to play based off of what you see there, it's going to be a small step behind.</s>
The Last of Us, though....oh man, that looks and plays phenomenal on the small screen at 60 FPS (it's still reaction-based of course, but you can usually get away with being a split second late to react).
Edit: HOLD UP...turns out I had Remote Play set up FOR the internet connection, which means that requires WAY less bandwidth than I thought. Trying the direct connection now and crossing fingers....Comment

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
Holy crap, disregard A LOT of that last post...it really is 100% better with the direct PS4 connection! I kept a multiball session going on PA for the first time ever on Remote Play (let alone being able to actually hit enough shots to GET to multiball).
Time for the acid test...The Show '14.
This is what Remote Play was supposed to be!Last edited by bcruise; 03-26-2015, 06:46 AM.Comment

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
Sadly, it looks like Vita Remote Play does not recognize the customized buttons for PS4, and the "customized buttons" menu for PS Vita does not allow you to switch the shoulder buttons with the touchpad. So much for improving games for RP in that regard... until future updates, of course.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
Yep, Show is 100% playable on the direct PS4 connection as well, which is so huge with 15 coming out in a matter of days. Same batting/pitching settings I use on the PS4, I can now use them on the Vita. The ball is a touch small due to the smaller screen (and not over-brightened up like the actual Vita version is), but that can be corrected with a camera change.
I'm seriously grinning ear to ear right now with how this works. To make sure it's in 60 FPS AND the direct PS4 connection, you need to confirm two options. One on the Vita's PS4 Link Settings "Video Quality For Remote Play" should be on High. On the PS4's Remote Play Connection Settings screen, "Connect Directly with PS Vita/Vita TV" needs to be checked. That's it, and if you're withing a short distance from the PS4 it should be the full console experience on the Vita (save for one thing....it disables video recording)Comment
