Back to PlayStation 4 discussion -
Gran Turismo Sport has been delayed to sometime in 2017. Honestly, im not really surprised. Between Gran Turismo Sport and The Last Guardian, if one was going to be delayed to 2017, I always thought that it would be Gran Turismo Sport.

They knew it was doomed with the Forza's in the world, or even Project Cars and Assetto Corsa on PS4 already.Comment

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
I don't care about racing games and don't follow any of them but is that all true in regards to GTS? Because, if so, is there even a game there???Comment

GT 2 is my favorite of the series. And really not even close. The joy I remember from getting that game and then playing it for hours and hours.Comment

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
Sales show there is no 'downhill', however, there are those who have different tastes making it subjective.
I personally started losing interest with 5 (skipped 4 since I was not gaming too much at the time due to contract work), especially when the focus was more on car volume, than more evolved modes and the like. It still plays phenomenal as a sim... just to me, it needs more presentation and better career mode.

I think the last one I played was GT2. I feel like I would remember if I played any GT past that one and I just can't recallLast edited by The JareBear; 08-30-2016, 11:19 AM."Successful people do not celebrate in the adversity or misfortune of others."

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
They all sold over 5 million each, only one that was the lowest was 6, but also, that launched just after the PS4 did, and it still sold over 5 million.
I can't remember if my favorite was 2 or 3... I wanna say maybe 3 on the PS2. But I still have the nostalgia fondness of 1 & 2.

6 sold half as many as 5, that's a pretty clear down turn.Originally posted by G PericoIf I ain't got it, then I gotta take it

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
WTF??? Stupid decision in my opinion. PD should have just went straight to Gran Turismo 7 and cut out all the stupid gimmick bullcrap.
Sales wise, they always have sold good. I'm pretty sure it's Sony's number one selling franchise in PlayStation history.Comment

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
And it came out around the time people were ready for the PS4 and jumping in to the next gen. So there is a lot of factors, rather than just 'clear downturn'.
Publishers/developers also jumped ship from last gen ports of games faster than any generation before this one, due to people being well ready for this gen, after the very long last one.
There is a lot to it. Not saying there are things they do not need to evolve to, if it is their interest or focus, however, it is not 'clear cut' by any stretch studying the market trends as a whole.

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
Yeah but it was released in December 2013 after PS4/Xbox One. That definitely impacted sales. But considering those two aspects, selling over 5m is still damn good since it's only on one platform and was from last gen.
Put GT6 as a PS4 launch title and it easily blows everything else away.Comment

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
I guess. DriveClub was delayed and there was no racing game on PS4. There were like 80 million PS3's in the wild, obviously more than when 5 came out. I dunno, sure there's market reasons for it to sell less but it sold half. And the buzz around it just wasn't as big as 5. Not sure what developers jumping ship from last gen ports has to do with anything either, these guys didn't have **** else to do lol. GT6 sold less than the GT5 Prologue, which was basically a demo.Originally posted by G PericoIf I ain't got it, then I gotta take it

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
It's tough to ignore the fact that Forza manages to pump out one of two quality racing titles every two years and GT has trouble launching a game within two years of a projected release date.
The series has fallen behind in just about every way that one can; graphics, audio, presentation, modes, cars, accessibility... it's a mess. The developers need fresh blood and fresh perspectives. IMO there should be some massive turnover in staff and the series should be completely scrapped and started anew.Last edited by DickDalewood; 08-30-2016, 01:21 PM.Comment
