PlayStation 4 Discussion

I don't know. The only people I ever see complaining are the ones trying to justify PS4 is better than XB1 or vice versa. I don't remember this as much during PS3/360 and not at all prior to that.

Unfortunately once the NEO and Scorpio hit it's going to be tons of new comparisons and complaints. It's a never ending cycle now. Gamers just aren't happy unless they are complaining anymore.

So basically the PS4 wasn't built to handle 4K so they're releasing Neo as a sort of console/adapter to help PS4 games run based on games with higher resolution and speed?

You gotta be kidding me.

A bunch of people, including myself, aren't interesting in 4k at all but more interested to see how it runs current and future games at 1080p. I have hopes for a lot of games getting "1080p, 60fps, Ultra settings" (as a PC comparison) consistently through its lifespan. Like, for example, at 1080p can the NEO run Witcher 3 as well as my PC can, as far as pop in, LOD, etc

We will see though. I definitely understand the pros and cons and don't blame anyone for not sharing my enthusiasm for the NEO and Scorpio.

Its not that I am trying to Justify that ps4 is better then X1. I think sales speak for themselves and I have never liked Microsoft at all. They make zero games I want to play and I find there controller to be overrated. They have never given me a reason to buy one of there systems. With that said though I love the wii u and I think it is a much better system then the wii ever was. I know most people dont agree with that but its how I fell. So I dont need any one to Justify that for me because I am not going to change my mind. I think it is just human nature to compare things and I think most people like when people agree with them. I think it sucks when you like something and people dont agree with you. People always compare things. People compare themselves to each other, people compare different athletes all the time and its the same with video games. I just think it would be better to just do a ps5 in 2018-19 with true 4k games and not do this NEO thing.

That's because like many other OS'ers you can form your own opinion and others opinions don't affect you. We all like what we like

The fact that an upgrade is available? Seems ridiculous. And if the only people you see complaining are trying to justify one system over the other, you must not know many PC gamers. More power is never a bad thing.

They could very well do that too, though I'd expect probably a year or two later than that.

Well maybe I also wonder with this NEO thing if that will be a way to make it a little longer before ps5 comes out because if ps5 where to come out in 2018 that would be only like 2 years after NEO and I dont know how many people are going to spend 400-500 again after having just spent money on the NEO a few years before and money on a ps4 only a few years before that.

Not trying to say the same thing over and over again its just how I fell and because we have had rumors of the NEO for so long with no real news its hard to come up with real things to talk about and I am just wondering how this may affect ps5 going forward. Also even though I dont like this whole NEO thing I still want real news about it not just rumors and I am still wanting to see if Sony can change my mind about the NEO. Its just been a long year with all the NEO rumors and NX rumors. I dont think I have ever seen so many rumors about consoles before with out it being shown off and getting real news.

The price of the ps4 is due to go down any way. They have only dropped the price of the ps4 by 50 in almost 3 years and with the slim coming out the price of the ps4 is likely going to go down any way.

What's the difference between this and games coming out that just run terribly like Just Cause 3 and Assassin's Creed? As a console gamer you already made the choice not to have a choice.

Also, why would they gimp the version that will for the foreseeable future have the larger install base? There's no incentive for 3rd party publishers to push Neo/Scorpio, what difference does it make to them?

Just sell more consoles I guess, at least on Sony's end.

I'm only saying I've seen it before, though sometimes it was different company consoles rather than the same console. Or we've seen it when Blu-ray first came out, that there are some DVD's that were intentionally ****ty looking just to get more Blu-rays sold, even if they were sold in combo packs (hence I'm also afraid that some Blu-rays now might end up looking worse than they can because of 4K for the exact same reason).

Companies are sketchy when it comes to this kind of stuff. I know in this case there is no double-dipping involved, but I'm just saying it can still happen.
