Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
Sony doesn't expect a ton of people to upgrade. There is no reason to.
This will just replace sales for those that don't have a PS4 already, any that upgrade is a bonus.badComment

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
I don't know, when they marketed the thing as a 4K machine, they kind of implied it was for people looking for 4K. No disrespect to 1080P gaming, as any benefit there is great, but that wasn't their intentions.Comment

You don't believe there is any reason for anyone to upgrade? Not even 4k HDR owners?"Successful people do not celebrate in the adversity or misfortune of others."

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
1080p improvements were part of their marketing. It wasn't the main line but it was in the press conference and is part of the package. ROTTR shows this off. IF more games did what ROTTR does we woudn't be having this bizarre 1080p vs 4k war in this thread. Which, quite honestly, I don't fully understand why its happening to begin with. We are really on the same side, hereLast edited by The JareBear; 11-12-2016, 09:43 PM."Successful people do not celebrate in the adversity or misfortune of others."

If they all did what ROTTR did, there wouldn't be any versus here.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
If people do, that's their way to spend their money on it but there is nothing about this system from what I know about technology and have seen in action/read that would make me upgrade my PS4 to a Pro.badComment

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
You cant see HDR in videos and that is better then 4K
If you want value for your 4k HDR tv then start with a PRO as no other console right now offers something for your TV except the PROComment

If more games perform like NBA 2K17, there absolutely is value in upgrading.Comment

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
After moaning, groaning and complaining about it since the rumors earlier this year, I must admit that im thus far happy with my purchase. I have realized that once you start playing/watching games in 4K with HDR, you can't go back. It just won't feel and obviously look the same. 4K is great but HDR is the game changer and once metadata is used in HDR, it will look and be even better.
With that all said, I still don't like or agree with Sony releasing PS4 PRO because as a console gamer, I don't want it to become like PC gaming. The only thing I will like is if developers give options ala ROTTR to choose what you want to play in. But that's as far as I want to have to go on a console. Only other thing I like is field of view in first person shooters. Seriously though, that's it. I don't want any of those graphics options and stuff like in PC where it's like a full list of stuff you can adjust. Just no. I spent three hours fine tuning my TV yesterday and now, I have it setup the way I want it to be. I don't want console games to become like that because I'll waste more time adjusting and testing all that stuff instead of just playing the games.
I am looking forward to playing future games with HDR on PRO like Watch Dogs 2, Horizon, For Honor, Ghost Recon and so many more. I simply can't go back.
And Jarebear, I know that you're enjoying the better picture and whatnot but seriously, once you get a 4K HDR TV, you won't be able to go back. I'm not a visuals whore but jeez, HDR makes the games look so ******* gorgeous that I can't go back to non-HDR. Just no way.
I can't wait to finish up The Witcher III Blood and Wine expansion on my 4K HDR TV. I know that it doesn't officially support 4K and HDR but you can still get HDR just by turning it "on" instead of having it as "auto" because it does make a difference.Comment
