Only downside is, this set is only 60 Hz.

Makes no difference for console gaming as 60fps is the max anyway. If you're going to do any PC gaming, that's the only time it matters.

Seriously man? 60 FPS looks like a static picture and the 30 FPS has flicker to it. 15 FPS looks like utter crap.

Seeing this makes me wonder why we don't all demand ALL games be in 60 FPS rather than 30 FPS but I guess if everyone doesn't notice much difference that is why...

Not true, unless you turn on the soap opera effect. You can't get higher than true 60fps source content. The tv plays tricks to fill in the gaps, and if that's your thing, I'm not here to judge. But 60hz has always been plenty for everything but PC gaming.

Edit: I should add that the 600hz plasma panel is not a true 600hz in a direct comparison to LCD/LED technology. It is still way "faster" but the 600hz is a marketing ploy as well.

Guys do not get trigger happy and try to buy a 4K set just when you see a good deal. Those bundled tvs with consoles all suck and are not worth it

Think and do your research and waste your money on something worthwhile

Remember that this is likely the tv you will rock with for a while.

That Sony is garbage and not worth it for gaming

Horrible contrast and greyish blacks not to mention it has NITS in the 400's only which makes it terrible

Input lag in game mode is 31 as well as HDR game mode so is decent at best in terms of input lag

If you want to play shooters online and the Show with timing mechanics do not settle for 31ms of input lag when there are other options for less or about same that has superior input lag

As a gamer, people's searches should begin and end with the Samsungs. They prioritize it now (didn't always) and the resulting low input lag as well as terrific Game Mode in general makes Sammys a clutch choice.

Alot of TVs lock you out of alot of settings in Game Mode where most Samsungs just turn alot of post processing off and still allow you to customize nearly everything.

Scott has a point in what he said about just being 60hz

He is referring to watching movies or sports and judder becomes an issue because 120hz tvs have the makers feature to smooth out the judder which a 60hz tv cannot fix....Is fine for blu rays which roll with 24p

But once you roll with cable tv you will notice judder compared to a tv that is 120hz which remember is the tech that the tv maker does to fix the judder

Watching movies from a 24fps source such as a Blu-ray player is smooth. Those that are sensitive to judder will notice it when watching movies over a 60fps source such as cable TV, or a home theater PC.

Yes that is correct, if you are a serious gamer Samsung should be the only choice this year...They are kings for gamers and there is no denying it

How do you guys feel about a product like this a) existing and b) right on Sony's site?

I have mixed feelings. I wanna try it but I feel so dirty for even thinking about it. Guys who really want to use KB+M have already been doing so with 3rd party accessories and workarounds but the barrier to do so was a steep learning curve and cost. This thing ain't cheap by any stretch but it's plug n play...as easy as it gets.

I didn't realize they still made 60hz tv's. I figured they would be standard 120hz now.

                            Looking for assistance.
                            https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

This is my current AV receiver. With the need to pass through 4K and HDR to the KS8000, the HDMI from the PS4 Pro will have to go directly to the TV. Then, I'll have to use the optical audio out from the Pro to the receiver, thereby losing the Dolby TrueHD and DTS HD audio.

Are there any workarounds I'm not thinking of, besides having to replace the receiver at some point? Anyone else in the same boat?

The difference between 60 and 30 is so small its not even funny. I wish the whole 60 vs 30 FPS thing could be outlawed and not aloud to be talked about. The whole 60 FPS thing is so grossly overrated and I get so sick of hearing about something that is hard to even notice the difference.
