I'm loving the PS4 I just have one thing that bothers me.

Why doesn't the PS4 have notifications for when friends come online and offline?! Drives me insane.

Well I got my PS4 from Amazon today and what do you know, blinking blue light. I set it all up and after about 40 times of receiving the your connection did not update the system quickly enough it finally was able to update. The system restarted, got to the main screen and made a really weird static noise and shut off. I tried rebooting in safe mode and I couldn't even get the system to do it which is really weird. I would hold the button after turning it on and would never get the two beeps. Just aggravating.

I called Sony and honestly didn't wait more than 25 minutes which I thought was good. Immediately the guy asked me if I booted into safe mode and I said I couldn't. He said they will overnight me a box and once I ship out my PS4 they will overnight me a new PS4 right away. So all in all it's not too bad. I did not expect such a quick turnaround but he said with the holiday season they need to be as caught up as possible. I avoided buying any games before actually having the system in hand and working because I had heard Amazon consoles were having a ton of trouble. It sucks but at least it seems like I'll be getting a new PS4 by the end of the week or early next week.

I'm still trying to figure out what games to get. It's between Madden, FIFA, and NBA and I'll probably get 2. I have current gen FIFA and love it, and I've heard the next gen version is a nice upgrade. I've also heard Madden is a decent upgrade as well. I wasn't expecting so many to enjoy Madden but it has me wanting it. I just need something to hold me over until The Show. If I get FIFA and one other game my plan is to trade in Battlefield 4 (got the Amazon bundle and won't even play it once) and FIFA 14 current gen. I'm not sure how much I'll get but hopefully enough to to spend about 80 dollars for 2 games.

Yeah specialist got the phone and said it needed to be fixed. So it's a hardware issue. I'm doubting that .04% is accurate. Number seems at least a little higher.

Seems like a lot of people are having issues with their Amazon PS4's.

I only get notifications for trophies and friend requests. It would be nice to see if a friend starts playing the same game or gets online.

Hopefully you have better luck than I did. I know we both went through a lot thanks to Amazon screw ups hopefully different result for you.

I wonder why they didn't offer to overnight me a new PS4. Clearly my PS4 is a hardware issue. He said they will overnight me a box and it would take a week to fix it... UGH!

Originally planned on getting PS4 at launch, but eventually decided against it. I have Madden on PS3 now, my friend gave it to me because he bought it and hated it.

The first PS4 is mine from Gamestop which I haven't had problems with. The one that came today is my brother's PS4 from Amazon. Which has the infamous faulty HDMI port.

I got it to come on one time then it froze at a blue screen trying to connect to it to WI-FI. After that was never able to get it to turn on again. Just get pulsing blue light. I hold for safe mode, but it never beeps twice. Just turns off. On with customer support but the guy seems like he is working from home as I can hear kids in background and he didn't know the issue. I don't know...

It's a well known issue.

Ya that's weird. When did you call? He just said that with the holidays and the amount of problems people are having they need to get systems shipped out as quickly as possible. It all hit me by surprise.
