Even with new IPs the selection of games has seemed to drop by a large margin since the PS2 days. Where are all the extreme/street sports games? Platformers? Its cool that we have the "indie" games for some platformers, but I do miss Banjo, Crash, and the other random characters that roamed the landscape in previous generations.

The other things are basically on a "wait and see" approach. The cloud-AI was used previously in Forza albeit under a different feature name that wasn't touted highly. AI is where I want to see leaps of improvement. AI teammates especially suck, but enemies were just as bad. I can play with a one button controller so long as the game is good and fun.

A lot of the promises of innovation this gen will just have to be waited on and see if they come to fruition.



Right, but it is notably a graphics pusher when the games are new and the gameplay hasn't really been the best thing about the franchise. Its hard to go back to an old game that looks ugly and plays choppy. That's the reason why there's a mod group basically recreating Morrowind with Skyrim's graphical goodness.

You make some great points and if I could talk with developers I'd bring them up to them as well. I do think a lot of developers though are slowly starting to realize they need to focus on other things aside from graphics...especially the AI and gameplay.

I think Madden next gen is a great example of this. I had very little expectations for it as it doesn't look much graphically better from the videos I saw but the game is so much better in so many ways. Now before anyone gets all uppity about me bringing up Madden, as I know it's most folks OS punching bag, that's just an example in my own opinion...

I have Skyrim on the PC and the 360. The maxed settings on the PC put the 360 to shame. I think if they ported for next gen it would look amazing.

That being said I wouldn't pay 60 bucks for a game I already have on two systems. 20? Maybe. IF I didn't have it yet though I'd pay 60.

Infamous Second Son was playable at CES today, a lot of fun.

PS4 is currently lacking games, so I am all for reissues. Hell I just bought Assassin's Creed 4 again, even though I beat the game over 2 months ago on the Xbox 360. So if they release Skyrim, GTAV or hell even Splinter Cell Blacklist on the PS4, I would buy those games again without hesitation.

I REALLY hope they release Xcom Enemy Unknown and Xcom Enemy Within on the PS4. Indie games are cool and all, but Don't Starve and the pinball games don't hold my interest what so ever.

PS4 has become a dust collector for the most part. Not that I regret picking one up.

But if I was somehow given the luxury of owning one for a couple weeks and then being allowed to return all my games, console and extra controller for a full refund. I would have been starting in line at Best Buy yesterday.

From what I heard from people in the electronics department of the store I work at (not Walmart), neither console is selling nearly as quickly now that the holidays are done. (Which isnt necessarily surprising)

With the idea that NBA 2K and Killzone: Shadow Fall would be enough to hold me over until The Show. How was I supposed to know NBA would have server issues all the time?

The PS4 has me hooked just because of BF4. It will hold me over until The Show. I'm new to the BF series and it's my first time around.
