Another cool thing is that you can change the voice/language of the mode announcer (using the Pulse Elite companion app). The GTA V voice is kind of funny.

I just picked up the Gold headset. I'll give some impressions later.

Also, can you talk through the headset while you're broadcasting gameplay on twitch?

I have the Astro A40's setup and it works great on PS4, PS3, and 360. I'm sure it should work on the One as well. It's pricier than these other sets and not wireless (those would be the A50's).

I tried wireless with TB high-end set, but the static/interference issues I was having soured me on an otherwise fine headset, and wireless in general for that sort of thing. Just my situation though.

It's supposed to be out later his month, in time for Infamous. But we've seen how well they have hit deadlines to this point with releases. I wouldn't hold my breath.

It says 'created exclusively for Sony headsets' so the presets MIGHT work on other headsets but sound a little odd.

Yea I read that, I probably should have phrased my question better.

I was under the impression that someone using this app was using Astros or something like that. I may buy the Golds just because of the app, only thing I don't like is the lack of an extended mic boom.

Yeah I doubt the software would be compatible with other brands. It specifically asks for your style of Pulse Elite headset you have when you start the app. Also, the updates are done via USB connection. (although the instructions on the PS4 app are sort of vague and non-implicit)
