    Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion

Is PS Now more than one companies games?

I see the comparison of EA and PSNow......but aren't you only getting the EA library for that?

(I'm not that interested in either...hence why I'm not checking it out myself)

...and I gotta laugh....anyway...I didn't realize men with guns were coming to our houses to force us to buy these subscriptions.
Anyone know when they are storming the homes of N.Y.?
    I'll go on vaca....

If they added in the option to switch off the HUD, and perhaps added another option to switch ball paths off except for pulling a trigger to show them (a la Madden's Coach Cam), the game would improve greatly.
For me...i cant complain for that price...but please fix the ONLINE. I like that you can add DNA of your opponent especially if they are great players. Like the #1 guy, i got his DNA and so I can practice vs this guy

Hopefully OS guys could have a tournament

I've got a PS4 question. I have a external hard dive that already has 70 gigs of music on it. My question us if I connect it to my PS4 to transfer digital games that I'm not playing to free up space will my music get removed?

No. Everything you transfer from PS4 gets put in a specific folder, and the destination drive does not need to be reformatted.

Now, I'm not sure you can back up entire games because of licenses, but that applies for everything that can be moved.

Have to say I'm pretty impressed with the quality of PS Now, having done a little side by side comparison of FFXIII with my actual PS3 version today. I could tell that it was a stream when looking at both of them, but the difference isn't that big at all and it's not something that would bother me while trying to play it. Basically no input lag either, at least compared to the PS3 game. XIII for all its gameplay issues is a very pretty game, and that came across on the stream quite well.

It does seem like a viable solution for those who got rid of their PS3's (assuming they add a lot more games to it) and have good internet. My connection is 10 Mb down 2 up, and the experience was very close to that of the actual PS3. Of course I still have mine and will still have it on into next year (for Persona 5), so it's not really for me yet.

As far as I know, you're right. PS4 does not (currently?) support external hard drives for transferring much of anything, let alone games.

JMD - you have to delete from and redownload to the PS4 to manage space.

100 a year is fine by me. If I can access PS1,PS2, and PS3 games. Eventually the whole library.

Yes. Netflix and Amazon Prime are $100 a year. I can't understand how that price point would be an issue for access to three generations of games.

Obviously if the library is awful, it won't matter.

Keep getting error code CE-33991-5 on my PS4, and can't get an internet connection. Playstation's fix for this code is "retry internet connection test."

I've tried a wired connection, changing the DNS settings, rebuilding the database, and obviously retrying the internet connection test. When I do custom settings, it's a never ending loop of asking me if I want to use a proxy server.

I recently moved into a new apartment, and unfortunately, can't have my own router. They've got their own set up on like every floor here and I don't have access to it. Am I going to have to just call the internet provider, or do any you guys know a fix?

If you don't have access to the router then you are basically screwed. Because it sounds like they have strict settings and are blocking a lot of ports.

True....I guess I just don't play old games enough. If this included PS4 games it'd be one thing that made me want a PS4, but Sony would lose money if they did that. I dunno, tons of old games don't seem like a lot of value to me, but I can see how other people might love to play old games.

Do you have to go through any kind of authentication thing when you go online with your laptop, kind of like using WiFi at hotels? If so, that might be what is blocking you. If you can talk to the tech people for the apartments, they may be willing to add your PS4's MAC address to a no-authentication required list that lets your PS4 get online. That's what I do at hotels when I have devices that connect to the Internet but then nothing works.
