Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
I have always used standby and never had any issue even though I see folks here did have issues with it. I'll give the new mode a try and see how it goes. I'd rather do the rest or standby mode than turn the machine off.Streaming PC & PS5 games, join me most nights after 6:00pm ET on TwitchTV https://www.twitch.tv/shaunh20

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
Agreed, I don't know why people choose to power off. It's so nice being able to fire up the console after work and seeing that 2-3 updates were already automatically downloaded and installed. When my free time to game is getting shorter and shorter, I don't have time to wait for patches and updates.Comment

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
Yeah the stand by mode is screwy now. It wouldn't start just now, had to hold the power button down to reboot it. Damn shame because I loved the stand by mode.Comment

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
The installs can still take a good 10-15 minutes. Unless you are concerned about the small amount of energy consumption, why not go standby? I just don't see the disadvantage to it.Ryan Spencer

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
After seeing Phobia's post about playing The Show via Share Play, Millennium and I tried it last night with him hosting. I'm fairly certain he's wired with a 1.21 gigawatt connection and I'm wired with 35/35 Fios.
We played five innings of scoreless ball playing last night's SF/KC matchup. As the guest, there weren't really any sync or lag issues; however, it was difficult to read and time pitches. Granted I'm a little rusty, but I think it's mostly the drop in resolution and framerate that make it tougher. When he was setting it up he mentioned something about an output quality setting. I'm not sure what he had it on, so perhaps that could make a difference.
I suspect something other than baseball wouldn't be so sensitive. Share Play could be a great way to play online with a friend using custom settings -- I'm talking about you, FIFA! -- or try before you buy -- hey, WWE! -- and I'm rather impressed.Comment

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
One of the best feautures of the PS4 as I would always charge my controllers when I put it in sleep mode. I'll wait til it's fixed before I use it again. Hopefully sony get's on it quick."If you don't have anything good to say, say it often"- Ed the sockComment

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
I haven't had any issues either.
Also, if you haven't seen it, this is a really good share play ad from Japan
