Edit: if this **** keeps happening, I'll probably sell this ps4 for cheap and just buy a new one. Anyone know if there's any hardware changes in the latest ps4 models other than hard drive?
Thew new ps4 model I have is lighter and makes zero noise with the fans. There are not physical buttons instead and no glossy finish.

Physical buttons? Like for the eject and power buttons? If so, that's enough reason for me to buy it

That is some bad luck. Hope you can get it sorted out.

This was one of the reasons why I decided to go digital this generation. Also, the fact that my blu ray laser on my PS3 crapped out last gen, I decided to go digital this time around. I do get a physical disk if the price is right but I game share with my son so digital works out well for me.

Depending on the HDD size and maker, they usually just have a laptop hard drive in there, if it's greater than 500 GB (the original HDD in the PS4), you could potentially swap them out internally to have more space and than you'd be able to use it for game storage.

That would be done at your own risk however.

I have upgraded the hard drive to 1tb.

I'm curious though, what would be the risk? You just remove the faceplate and a couple of screws, swap hard drives and put it back together. Takes 5 minutes. You don't void the warranty or anything.

More-so a risk to the External HDD because most times popping the HDD from it irreparably damages the case. It's not a risk to the PS4, as the original HDD would still be around to plug in, in some odd case the other HDD had an issue.

Mike... Have you tried playing today? Curious what's causing this to come back... It's really weird since we had this happen around the same time... Mine was today... I played last night and this didn't happen.

I've dealt with it since launch. Returned my ps4 for a new one twice, this is my third ps4. They've all had the same eject bug. I found a fix that multiple people have tried which involved removing the warranty seal. I did the fix myself and it was the longest I have gone without it ejecting on me, 9 months. It used to be a daily occurrence.

I think it's just coincidence that you had it happen as well

Interesting... That could very well be the case.

I haven't had any problems with this until about 10 months or so ago... I did the tighten the screw fix and it's been fine until today... I put the disc back in after it happened and played for about 15 minutes and didn't have it eject... I'll try playing longer tonight, getting ready to start my CFM.

                        Just really weird.

So I'm literally just sitting and enjoying 2K16 when my PS4 just completely shuts off. Nothing happened out of it(as far as I know off) but it scared the crap out of me.

For anyone getting Uncharted, 44.6gb is your magic number, installed that's the amount of space required.

Incredibly easy mod. Changed both controller sticks in about 20 minutes. Honestly, the worst part are the L2/R2 triggers. Absolutely love the XB1 sticks, feel so much better than the PS4 ones.
