Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
I wish I had put it in my PC instead, but I still like having it in my ps4 well enough I guessLast edited by The JareBear; 03-26-2016, 02:21 AM."Successful people do not celebrate in the adversity or misfortune of others."

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
Wouldn't that be a something!
It does sound like a new PS4 model is coming out as Digital Foundry are saying, “independently established” that the system is indeed real.
Just my opinion.......
I know some people won't pleased but remember, this system will likely cater to VR fans, mostly by incorporating all of the external VR parts that's being currently sold separately. I would even say they probably will look into matching the PC competition in order to stay relevant and competitive, showing developers that Sony is seriously committed to VR. It will also cater to those who wish for 4k entertainment as an alternative to their existing media player for 4k streaming.
It's a snapshot to what the PS5 will be. Probably will be priced $600 - $700. Most likely released next year, 4th quarter. It won't make our existing PS4's obsolete as we will continue to get quality games but developers will now have the blueprint of planning/building future next-generation gaming much quicker. Even trying to establish itself as the "developer's gaming console" to start from. Microsoft was very committed in media entertainment originally so I believe they too will want to jump into the 4K fray and not just give Sony the keys to next-generation access solely. They'll probably want to wait to see if VR takes off to implement any console VR gaming.
So what's the point? VR fans will notice the major upscale and Sony will offer 4k TV fans a PS4.5 as another alternative as Sony TV entertainments (PSVue and PSNow) user base continues to grow.Comment

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
According to digital foundry, for $400, there's no way that you're getting a game in 4K resolution. Minimum price that I have seen mentioned is at least $1000 if not more considering what is needed to run games in 4K.
Sony releases this upgraded console, they are basically screwing over the 40m users that they already have. Consoles are NOT PC's nor are they meant to be. Consoles are meant to be the same for the entire generation. Forcing those 40m consumers to buy a new PS4 so it can play a game that's developed for it and not the current PS4 is bull crap. Sony goes through with this, they are going to shoot themselves in the foot as this is not what consoles are meant to be.
Consoles are not PC's and I don't want them becoming PC's in terms of being upgraded and all this other crap. If I wanted that, I would just game on PC. Bad enough that consoles are built like computers instead of game consoles just makes it worse.
Sony does in fact do this, im hoping Microsoft kicks their *** this holiday season and PSVR bombs because it's obvious that long term, Sony didn't learn a damn thing after their beyond horrible PS3 launch. As easy as it was for the majority of Xbox 360 fans to switch over a few years ago, they can just as easily switch back.Comment

Games will continue to be made. One system will have little more "kick *** sauce" for the new technology. You won't miss a beat.Comment

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
How so? First, you need a 4K TV to fully enjoy 4k streaming. Second, we're not there yet to shove all that tech into a console box to get 4k gaming. Third, if it helps with VR fans to enjoy the performance even more what difference does that make to you? Fourth, Sony's history with products involves pixels and new technology. You know, cameras, TVs, media players.
Games will continue to be made. One system will have little more "kick *** sauce" for the new technology. You won't miss a beat.
2) And yet, Sony wants to release a 4K console this year? The console won't even be able to run games in native 4K so what's even the point in this upgraded console? All it's going to do is piss off the 40m consumers that already own a PS4.
3) I see VR as a gimmick for games. The tech is there but it won't be used for games. It will be used for apps and other crap which to me, defeats the point of having it for PS4. After all, this is PLAYSTATION, not WATCH STATION or LISTEN STATION or whatever other crap apps that eventually go on it. Majority of the 50 games that get released later this year aren't even actual games. They're basically just tech demos and whatnot. If there's more than 10 full games out of 50, I'll be shocked. And personally, Sony should have built PSVR with PS5 in mind, not PS4.
4) Yeah, I know that but as far as I know and maybe im wrong but Sony's other divisions don't do as good as their gaming division is doing now. They're trying to better their other divisions through PS4 and that's a mistake in my opinion because long term, you're screwing over those who already own a PS4 by saying, here, go buy our slightly upgraded console for another $400.
5) Games wise, eventually, games will be made with PS4K in mind where the current PS4 owners get the lesser version. Basically, it will be like cross gen games. The only difference is that the cross gen is between the same console generation.
Sorry but all of what Sony is doing is trying to oversaturate the market with one gadget after another and it's not going to work. Like the saying goes, less is more and when it comes to consoles, add-ons, etc., that's definitely true.Comment

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
Note answers below in bold:
1) True but owning a PS4K will most likely push the consumer to buy that 4KTV and thus spend more money on something that's not needed yet right now.
Listen to yourself when explaining this. Sony shouldn't make new technology to sell to the general public is what you're saying?????? We shouldn't be making people spend money on buying new technology?????
2) And yet, Sony wants to release a 4K console this year? The console won't even be able to run games in native 4K so what's even the point in this upgraded console? All it's going to do is piss off the 40m consumers that already own a PS4.
You're looking at the PS4 as only a gaming console which its not. The PS4 does much more

Some people buy 2 consoles because they want to play exclusives from both parties. What's that 4 or 5 games difference? Some gamers want to experience something different when I jump into a cockpit of a fighter plane, or in the seat of a auto racing game, or travel in space with a different perspective. It's time!

You apparently are not a fan of photography. Some of the best cameras in the world are from Sony. Every so many years their cameras are getting more advanced
5) Games wise, eventually, games will be made with PS4K in mind where the current PS4 owners get the lesser version. Basically, it will be like cross gen games. The only difference is that the cross gen is between the same console generation.
Actually the difference now is how important video streaming is becoming and how many of us are saying to hell with cable

Less is more. That's why they want to include all of the VR components into the console instead of having it attach as a separate pieceComment

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
The new ps4 will be slim and upscale to 4K but native it will remain 1080p
the new ps4 is just being made for people with 4K tvs and 4K streaming accounts
If you have no 4K tv you will continue to get the same game that those with the udpated console will get except you wont have 4K tvs
Sony is not going to release a console at all that puts out native 4K gaming. That will cost a ton and very little market for that right now.
Those who think that MS or Sony will come out with a new console that will do 4K I got a bridge to sell youComment
