Yea in the future I can see that but they are not going to release a new console that is more powerful this year. They might release a slim version that allows 4K streaming. I don't think MS can catch Sony this gen even if they release a better console. It would have to be something that topples Sony and at best I can see them releasing something that will do what Sony does today which is not enticing for those sony fans who already have a console

If they don't, I think it would be a mistake. Microsoft's exclusives are going to the PC on the same day more and more it seems. Playstation has VR and an upgraded version on the horizon. Nintendo has the NX coming out this year that rumors to be more powerful than both Sony and Microsoft's console. This will leave Microsoft as the weakest console of the bunch with exclusives that can be had without purchasing an Xbox1, to look and perform better on the PC. Their sales will most likely take a serious hit without some buzz.

I think the NX could be stronger then Ps4 but that is really not saying much because Wii U is slightly stronger the ps3 was. NX needs to be much more powerful then ps4 other wise once ps5 comes out Nintendo is just going to be way behind again.

The new ps4 will be slim and upscale to 4K but native it will remain 1080p

the new ps4 is just being made for people with 4K tvs and 4K streaming accounts

If you have no 4K tv you will continue to get the same game that those with the udpated console will get except you wont have 4K tvs

Sony is not going to release a console at all that puts out native 4K gaming. That will cost a ton and very little market for that right now.

Those who think that MS or Sony will come out with a new console that will do 4K I got a bridge to sell you

I agree I expect to have 4k next gen but not this gen. Right now 4k would cost to much and I think you would piss off to many people like some people have said already and sony is not this stupid.

So I dove into another p4 tonight and got the show, was playing again for about 10 min and my ps4 cut off, why did this happen, any help would be grateful, I just bought the system Brand new tonight

I am not sure. I have had a ps4 from day 1 and never had it just shut off. I some times get a era code were I am taken out of a game I am playing back to the main menu but that for some reason tends to only happened with madden 16. You said you dove into another ps4 tonight and had this issue. So you have had a lot of ps4 issues I take? I have also yet to hear of any overheating issues with ps4.

Oh sounds like bad luck. I am sure hoping my ps4 last for a while. I fell like I have bad luck with systems. I had 2 GameCube's that stopped reading disk, and now a 3erd one starting to try to do that, and a ps3 that got YLOD. All 3 of those happened after only having each system for about 2.5 years. I also have a wii that gave me issue day 1. When I turn it on I get no picture and I cant turn the system off so I unplug it then turn it back on and ever thing is good. So its like ever time I turn it on it freezes or something. Ever time I play my wii that happens. My second ps3 is still going after around 6 years maybe a little less. It is coming up on around 2.5 years with my ps4 but I also don't play video games as much has I used to being 26 and having to be a grown up lol. Did the system make a beep noise when it shut off? I know my ps3 sometimes does that.

Oops, I worded that wrong. I was referring to spending more money on another PS4 which won't even be native 4K so really, what's even the point?

I know that the PS4 does a lot more than just play games but all the extra stuff it does are just extras. Sony could take it all away and I wouldn't miss any of it and I seriously doubt that the majority would either because everything you can watch/listen to on PS4 can be done on your PC/laptop so it's not necessary. Personally, I care about games which is why I bought PS4 (and Xbox One). Not for all this other crap.

I own both consoles once again too but there's a difference between buying two consoles from two different manufacturers (Sony and Microsoft) compared to buying two consoles from the same manufacturer. Unless your console dies out, what's the point in buying another console in the same generation? Consoles are supposed to last an entire gen, not be upgraded three years later. Sorry but that's bull crap.

As for experiencing games in a different way, once the novelty of (all) VR wares off, it will be just another useless gimmick that publishers stay away from and will then slowly fade away and die. Not only that but you're not meant to play games for a long period of time in VR so basically every game will be a few hours and that's it.

As for video streaming, PS4 can do 4K now with a simple system update in regards to all that other stuff excluding games. A new PS4 model for 4K isn't needed for that.

They included the Camera and Move controllers too and added $100 to the price even though the Move controllers aren't required where as the Camera is.

In the end, I just think that Sony is taking a huge risk and gamble if they release an upgraded PS4 which even isn't native 4K. I truly don't see the point in taking the chance of alienating the existing 40m user install base. To me, there's no positives at all in doing this and can only turn into negatives.

Microsoft isn't even working on an upgraded console at all. Spencer said what he said for one reason - to gauge reaction before anything gets developed and released to market. Spencer isn't stupid. Saying stuff like that is just a smart move on his part because if the majority hate the idea, they don't even have to move forward with it at all.

As for NX, I don't see it matching Xbox One let alone PS4 or surpassing either or both. I'm expecting Nintendo to do another lame *** gimmick that fails and if that happens, I fully expect them to then go third party. Nintendo will never make a superior console in terms of power simply because they don't like taking losses on hardware which is why their consoles are always weak compared to the competition.

With that said, I would LOVE for Nintendo to go ALL OUT with NX but with it being a traditional console and controller. Just add everything else that Sony and Microsoft have, get third party support, indies, some exclusives and have a friendly user interface with a lot of options and features.

E3 will definitely be very interesting, that's for sure.

I don't think that it would be a mistake at all. Microsoft already pissed off a lot of fans three years ago which led to PS4's 40m user install base. No reason for them to alienate the 20m that they currently have. Better approach would be to let Sony screw up (which I can definitely see happening) and use that momentum towards their next console.

Microsoft's exclusives going to PC isn't that big of a deal because they can only be purchased through the Microsoft store. It's simply so they can add extra revenue. Also, for those exclusives, you're going to need a damn good to excellent PC and in this regard, Xbox One is still far cheaper. Add in the fact that the PC version always seem to have far more problems, bugs and glitches than the console version and it won't really impact anything.

VR wise, Microsoft has some kind of deal with Oculas Rift and still have Hololens down the line. VR isn't a cheap investment and if it fails, no reason to follow suit. Better off taking a wait and see approach.

I see Microsoft winning March and April due to The Division and Quantum Break. No reason for them to spend more money on something that isn't needed and could backfire. When you add in the fact that a lot of investors want Microsoft to leave the gaming division, no way in hell would I take a huge risk by releasing an upgraded console when your install base is already half of what the competition is at.

It's fun, but the PS4 version is a mess. The framerate is some of the worst I've seen this gen and that bug where your control cuts out a few seconds into each level make the game barely playable. I'm waiting on a patch until I come back to it.

The control glitch only happens once about two seconds into each restart and doesn't show up again. It hardly makes it unplayable. lol. Unplayable would be if it continually showed up throughout the level. As is, wait a second or two before you start moving. Not a big deal. I don't even notice it anymore.

As for framerate, I've only run into that when **** really hits the fan with tons of enemies on screen, and again, it's never been to the point where it's effected my ability to complete a level.

To each their own of course, and if you want to wait, then by all means wait. That said, it's one of my favorite games probably this gen (indie game for sure) and if either of those issues were as bad as you said it certainly wouldn't be. That's not an excuse to not make the game even better, but anymore it seems we toss out the words "unplayable" or "broken" at games that are far from either.

Just my two cents... I'm sure a patch will be around sooner or later regardless.

Came back on, and now I bought the system from a mom a pops store they don't have any left and don't take returns like that, they said they would call Sony for me, I'm like really , right. Like wth.

It's has happen only when playing the show thus far. Been play uncharted and it hasn't done it. Uncharted is installed on the hdd.
