I would just take my upgraded hard drive from my current ps4, put the old factory hard drive in, and put the upgraded hd in the new ps4.

Any trade up deal that gives over 220 toward a system would be something I jump on

Also, not trying to troll here, but do you really think this is an April Fools? Seems like it would be a pretty weak payoff

Yeah i kind of do think it could be a early April fools joke because out side of 3Ds what systems have had a upgrade system that is more powerful? That is more of a PC thing and i think this would piss off a lot of people and i dont think sony is that stupid.

It was pointed out in this thread. Microsoft did it with the 360.

This is not a rumor as this will happen. Sony needs to get a system that can better process VR as currently the resolution is weak

If you buy the new ps4 you will have to download your things again as this is standard. We are not talking about a cell phone

The console i feel will be 400 to 500 and the current ps4 will drop from 350 to 300

The having to redownload ever thing is the thing I hate now days. I miss the days of memory cards and not having to download ever thing. That is a big reason I don't want ever thing to go all digital because it can take for ever to download stuff and it would be a lot nicer if you could just switch out a hard drive to a new system so you don't have to redownload ever thing. Want you said current ps4 could drop from 350 to 300. I thought it was still 400? I wonder if sony would up the hard drive space at all to. I never had to get a new hard drive on ps3 but now that ever game as to be installed I am going to have to get a new hard drive for sure because the 500 GB drive can only have like 12 games or so on it and I keep all my games and go back and play them from time to time. So I am not going to delete things just so I can have other games on there instead. If this ps4.5 was 400 and u could trade in your current ps4 for like 200 and the ps4.5 had like a 1 Tb or even 2TB hard drive maybe I would get it because it would only cost me 200 plus I would save on having to buy a hard drive.

Maybe I misread something (which is most likely the case) but I thought they did. It was something about 720 and 1080 resolution. It was within the past couple days I read it. Forget exactly what post number though.

I don't know most games last gen where only 720p even on ps3 and I can only remember consoles coming out with slim version but not more powerful ones.

All they did on the 360 is updated the primary output to HDMI. The system did not get more powerful.

Alright I misread the post. My bad.

Yeah I posted that...the hardware change was an output change and an OS update that allowed upscaled 1080p games and 1080p streaming. Thought the new ps4 was the same for 4k upscaled games and 4k streaming with internal hardware changes, but after watching the know video again it said an additional cpu core to use as well.

However, what that actually means for games and whether true or not (since nothing official has been said) is yet to be seen. I have a hard time believing it will do more than upscaled res and 4k streaming (like the new 360 did for 1080p.) I wouldn't bet on a situation where on the new console the game plays upscaled 4k at 60fps while the old goes with 1080p and 30fps. Or 4k 30 vs struggle for 1080 30ish. I guess time will tell!

Were you in Rest mode before? Or was it completely shut off?

For the record, I've definitely had weird things like this happen before, but I forget how I fixed it. Either booted it up in Safe mode, or maybe just unplugged it and re-plugged it back in. The PS4 definitely isn't bug-free, though.

Update, sorry guys it was driving me crazy, took the ps3 power cord and used that and my P4 came right up, could it really be a faulty power cord ?

If so thank goodness.
