Well seems my P4 is working good now, played it like 3 hours in a row tonight , or close to it and it didn't turn of on me. Thank God

Anyway, I wanna upgrade my hdd, does ps4 only read 2tb?? If so how many have you upgraded and what hdd.

How much of a deal would it be though if there was one? Also then you would have to redownload ever thing and transfer saves to the new one like you do if a system breaks and you get a new one and that is a pain in the butt. I still think this is just a rumor or even a early April fools joke but we will see. If they really do this would the current ps4 go down in price? Or would this one cost more then 400?

I would just take my upgraded hard drive from my current ps4, put the old factory hard drive in, and put the upgraded hd in the new ps4.

You'd have to reformat the hard drive when you put it in the new PS4 and redownload/reinstall everything you know...

This is not a rumor as this will happen. Sony needs to get a system that can better process VR as currently the resolution is weak

If you buy the new ps4 you will have to download your things again as this is standard. We are not talking about a cell phone

The console i feel will be 400 to 500 and the current ps4 will drop from 350 to 300

The hard drive you remove from the ps4 which is the samsung you told me about would need to be reformatted under the new ps4 console I.D which will force you to delete all items and redownload them

Yeah that's what I told him as well. You can't even transfer a hard drive between PS4's right now and have it work without doing a total reformat and redownload/reinstall as I learned the hard way. The hard drive is tied to the specific PS4.

I really wish they supported external drives with plug and play for installed games...would make it much easier for getting a new system or playing on multiple, such as taking a game to a friends house. Has there ever been any note of them saying it is something they may support in the future?

I have the Samsung 850 Pro SSD with 512gb just received yesterday from Amazon on my PS4 and it allows about 10 games with load times being reduced greatly

Stock Drive on the Witcher from main menu to game it was 1:37 seconds and with the Samsung Pro 850 SSD it was 1:07 seconds

In GTA 5 loading story took 1:42 seconds in stock and 1:24 seconds with the SSD

Games online load textures quicker as well like the division performs with less popping as well as GTA 5

I am returning the drive today because the Sandisk 1tb cost the same and performs the same with the PS4 so rather do that

But I will need to get an SSD for the XB1 as well

I think load times in big games like BloodBorne, Witcher 3, GTA, Fall Out, Dark Souls 3 and Quatum Break will benefit from the SSD big time if you can find a good price point

I have the itch to get a PS4 for the The Show and some other stuff, but I don't want to buy one if there will be an upgraded model soon.

I mean, I'd rather buy the upgraded one, or at the very least get the current one for less money. I'd like to at least hear details from Sony so I could make an informed decision...

Im in the market for another PS4 to go with my 4K tv. I was looking at getting a 4K BD Player but I think I will just hold off to see what comes of this PS4.

Has it been confirmed yet if the new PS4 will play UHD/4K disk?
