Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
Saw the specs on neogaf. It's a minor upgrade if that. I truly don't see the point.Comment

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
Well, im 6'2 so let me know how many that turns out to be bud. Funny thing will be when people buy the console and STILL complain that games aren't a locked 1080P and 60FPS. I'm going to be laughing my *** off when that happens.Comment

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
Giant Bomb also wrote some info regarding it.
Games running in NEO mode will be able to use the hardware upgrades (and an additional 512 MiB in the memory budget) to offer increased and more stable frame rate and higher visual fidelity, at least when those games run at 1080p on HDTVs. The NEO will also support 4K image output, but games themselves are not required to be 4K native.
Sony makes no mention of PlayStation VR in the docs we've seen, so it's hard to know what that means for the persistent rumors that this upgraded PS4 will be able to support PSVR without the "breakout box" that the headset ships with. That said, so long as the NEO's upgrades apply to PSVR games, developers should be able to get even more performance out of Sony's VR headset.

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
I'll upgrade for sure. Almost every other technology medium outside of video game consoles produces a yearly to bi-yearly upgrade; it was only a matter of time until these systems did something similar. I upgrade my iPhone yearly and can certainly afford to do so every two to three years here as well, especially with something that gets more than enough use to justlfy the expense.Last edited by DickDalewood; 04-19-2016, 08:12 AM.Comment

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
With my PS4 almost dying, i will wait until this new model comes out, then, if it doesn't have new problems, i'll get one if my current PS4 dies before that.
I don't think it is a minor upgrade, and you'll see how it will increase the performance of the games that are locked at 60fps.PSN ID/Street Fighter V Fighter ID: razorkaosComment

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
If this works well I bet Sony would love to sell us a new $400 console every few years, with an architecture change much less frequently.
Wonder if they're kicking some form of that idea around.

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
They're out to make money. If them & ms could figure out a way to sell an upgrade every year and there was a market for it, they'd do it in a heartbeat.
They'll slow their roll if sales numbers don't show the demand. But if they do? It's on.Comment

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
Eurogamer's joined the party, too. Two gaming media outlets reporting it now (plus it's apparently credible enough for IGN to run with). Matter of time?
