Fair enough, we all have our own preferences. The best thing about PS4, Xbox One, WiiU and PC's it gives us all options. That being said, I world love to see Sony release a PS4 "Elite" controller with all the bells and whistles like the Xbox One Elite controller.

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
Sony just recently said they are unsure about having a full blown presence at Gamescom in Germany this August. Quite honestly, they don't need to. They dominate Germany in sales 9:1, and a small show floor presence is all that is needed.
They menationed there are other shows in Europe around that time they could attend, like Spain, etc., or also they were not against having their own show like the US version of PSX.
However, shinobi602, a well known insider who is usually on the money, said he has been hearing PGW for months now. Which would line up with a reveal, and launch 3 weeks later. Plenty of time in advance for a non cannibalizing product, and just after the initial PSVR launch.

PGW? While we do have the Tokyo game show in September and that is like the biggest show out side of E3. So I could see the NEO being shown there. Does Nintendo normally go to the Tokyo game show?Comment

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
Nope its me and I wasn't trying to be trollish or any thing. I just have never cared for Microsoft at all but I am glad they are around because it is competition and the more competition the better. I guess because I don't like Microsoft at all some times that can come off kind of trollish. That is why I don't post much on the xbox threads and such but I meant what I was saying. Before ps3 I was mostly a Nintendo guy. Then with ps3 and ps4 I have become more of a sony guy but I still like Nintendo a lot because they do things differently and they still have some of the best game franchise of all time in Zelda, Donkey kong etc.Comment

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussi
Yeah options are always good when it comes to PC I don't game but a lot of that is I don't know enough about PC to play on PC. Doesn't the elite controller cost like 100? That is crazy for a controller. I don't think I could ever pay that much for a controller when I have a perfectly fine controller that cost only like 60 in comparison.Comment

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
TGS has not been as big in some time, especially for home console reveals. Hence why Sony no longer reveals there, nor for the first time they launched the PS4 in US/Europe first, then Japan months later. The console presence is not what it used to be. Japan loves them mobile now.
Paris Games Week is in October. They want to time this for after the PSVR launch on October 13th. It will not be announced at TGS. Especially a 'higher end enthusiasts machine'.
Either their own show, or PGW.

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
My prediction for still the same....October 13th. Same day as PSVR. Of course, Sony should delay it simply because it will be obsolete in a year's time. Even without that other console a year later, Neo is just a minimal upgrade and nothing special. If anything, I think that it's simply meant to help PSVR games as opposed to the console games itself.
All five opening games of Sony's E3 conference were running and being played off the current base PS4. Days Gone alone proved that Neo isn't needed.
As for PSVR, I see it as just another peripheral that will be awesome and amazing until the novelty of it wares off and people realize that they're getting hour experiences as opposed to actual games. Also, games for it need to be exclusive and built from the ground up for the PSVR. Not ports or as an added feature.
PSVR will have a decent run but within two years and no one including those who purchased it will care about it anymore.
Outside of Eve Valkrie, there's not a single game that's worth buying PSVR (or any of them for that matter) for. At least for me anyway.
I think VR is going to flop and flop hard. For a few reasons.
1. Price the thing cost 400 who wants to pay that much? I mean you could buy a system for that price or like 6 games instead. I don't think something that cost has much has a system is going to sale well at all.
2. Sounds like the games are more demos then really a game. Example I heard the batman VR game is only 1 hour long. Who wants to buy a game that is only a hour long?Last edited by Smallville102001; 06-21-2016, 10:06 PM.Comment

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
Paris Games Week. That is the biggest show outside of E3, which is not as big anymore compared to the other shows now. That is why some publishers are pulling away from E3. Too expensive when you can take a cheaper YouTube streamer option.

I have a hard time believe that Paris games week is really that big considering I had never even heard of Paris games week in till last year. I think E3, Tokyo game show and gamescom are all bigger then Paris games week.Comment

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
PSVR will do fine. In fact, it is in better position than PCVR, due to having no competition at the moment, with a platform arena all to itself.
Sony as well as Vive and Rift know it will be a slow burn long term thing. Their strategies are built around it.
And they have over 60 games slated by the end of December, plus plenty of cross games PC devs are doing. There is plenty of full time experiences, lol.

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
You only heard of the others, because they have been around a long time. TGS attendance has been in decline, Japan is no longer the console mecha like the US/Europe is.
PGW, while newer, has a huge attendance, and was a big focus for Sony the past 2 years. As well as big announcements were saved for it.
Trust in the shinobi602, lol.

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
And yet, Nintendo isn't what it used to be and based on rumors about NX, still haven't learned. I'm predicting yet another lame *** gimmick console that won't even match the current base PS4/Xbox One consoles. Microsoft can screw up a billion times and they will still at the very worst, be second best. Zelda looks amazing but I would have preferred the "realistic" Zelda that was shown years ago with a scorpion boss. I'm sure Zelda will be great but as with all Nintendo games since Nintendo 64, their games while great are usually seen as better than what they are simply because, well, there's nothing else on their consoles that are even remotely close to being any good.
While I still like Nintendo but yeah they have went down hill and I am hoping that NX does well because other wise I think they are going to stop making systems and will just make games only and I don't want that to happened. Wii I thought was easily Nintendo's worst system. No games and I hated the motion control thing. Wii u I thought was a great second system this gen to have and had much better games then the wii did and I like the gamepad more then motion controls. Wii I only had like 5 games where wii u I have like 12. They need to go back to a more powerful console. It doesn't have to be the most powerful console but it needs to be in the ball park power wise with Sony and Microsoft. Wii was basically a gamecube but with motion controls and wii u was only slightly more powerful then ps3 even though it came out years after and had to deal with competition from ps4 and xbox1.
I wouldn't say that Wii u had no games I think Donkey kong tropical freeze is worth getting a wii u for and there are also some other good games like splatoon. The problem is because it was so under powered they didn't get multiplatform games. As much as people talk about exclusives not having games like COD, Madden etc really hurts Nintendo + when ps4 come out it only cost 100 more then wii u even though ps4 is way more stronger and on top of that wii u really never got any price cuts for the most part. Even though wii u didn't have those multiplatform games and was underpowered if it had cost less it still could have sold at least a little better.Comment

They have the highest attendance of any gaming show. It is pretty big.

Le plus grand rendez-vous gaming de l'année revient pour sa 14ème édition du 30 octobre au 2 novembre à Paris Expo. Réservez dès maintenant vos billets.
Last year they had an attendance of 307,000 people. In comparison, E3 had 50,000 this year.
If you frequent sites like NeoGaf, or Reddit, it is well established. Also well covered on mainstream sites like IGN, etc..
