Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
So I just order the 2013 Tomb raider game this morning. I have never played it before but heard a lot of good things about it and about the one that came out this year to. If it is as good has people say then I will get the new one later. I am going to need a bigger hard drive come October if TLG is still a October game and not pushed back. I am at 42.11 GB right now before my order of Tomb raider comes. I am sure after this game and after TLG I would be at 0 space.Comment

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
Don't know yet but I think the only way I may get a NEO is if it has a 2tb hard drive and cost 400 and I can get 200 for my regular ps4 in trade in value.Comment

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
Well I am ageist this whole NEO thing and think Sony should just want and do ps5 in 2018-19. I don't like this whole mid gen thing and the most likely the only way I am going to get a ps4 is if I can trade my ps4 in and get enough for it that I am only really paying like 100-150 and I mean for like a bigger hard drive to. What I mean is say you get 200 trade in and NEO cost 400. That would be a 200 difference and then I am going to need a bigger hard drive at some point any way and buying a 2 TB hard drive cost around 100. So if I don't have to pay 100 for a bigger hard drive and the NEO just comes with that bigger hard drive then really I would only be paying 100 to upgrade to the NEO. Maybe Sony will do something on the 7th to impress me and to change my mind.Comment

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
To be fair. There might not be a PS5. The NEO is their next gen system. MS and Sony are taking this with the cell phone approach.

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
Fair enough but to be fair I am ageist this whole pc like approach and I also don't have a 4k tv yet and I am not sure when I am going to get one either. I want a 4k tv but I am having a really hard time trying to move out on my own and trying to get a better job. In till I move out on my own I may not get a 4k tv because not only do I want a 4k tv but I want a like 50-60 inch tv compared to the 37inch tv I have right now and much more then 37 would be bad for your eyes with the size of my room. Also I think post NEO no matter if that is ps5 or just another upgrade of some sort I think will be when we start to get true 4k games and not just upscaled 4k or something. Also it sounds like Scorpio may be more of a real gen like jump then NEO. Sounds like xboxone to scorpio is 5 times jump in power where NEO from ps4 may only be like 2 times of a jump in power.Comment

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
I see PlayStation 4 Neo as a one time thing. I still see PlayStation 5 being released in Fall 2020 but the difference is that console will have expansion ports in order for the user to upgrade easier by buying components and then swapping them out.
I see Scorpio as an entire new console and the start of the next generation of gaming. Like Colin Moliarty, I believe that Scorpio will be Microsoft's next gen console and the start of the ninth generation of gaming. I believe that Scorpio will be fully backwards compatible, require no emulation of any kind, have expansion ports that allow components to be upgradable if the user so chooses and be a true next generation console. I also see Scorpio being pushed back until the Fall of 2018 due to Microsoft eventually coming to this conclusion. Even if Scorpio releases in the Fall of 2017, I still believe that it will be Microsoft getting a head start on Sony in the ninth generation.Comment

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
Aside from announcing, revealing and releasing, Sony and Microsoft should stay away from the cell phone approach for one very simple reason - video game consoles are NOT cell phones. Never have been and never will be. And considering the fact that literally 99% of the games available on cell phones are total and pure crap, why Sony and/or Microsoft would even want to be similar, copy, etc. in regards to cell phones is beyond me.

The reason they would take the cell phone approach as bad as I too would hate it is money. You take a mid lifecycle xb1/ps4 sprinkle in a 4K drive sprinkle in slimmer model, sprinkle in this or that feature while it still plays the original games and you move the needle forward by keeping developers active in increasing their features and possibilities with games, you capture that rather large must have it now market that jumps on everything new and "cutting edge" all while not alienating your installed base, it's all about money. And yea some will complain about this model moving forward but what did anyone lose by the xb1 s coming out if you don't have a 4K tv, or the NEO for that matter nothing really, just the way I see it from their perspective is all, not in favor of it myself but the world we live in

I do think you alienate some people though and you are not always going to have something like 4k to fall back on with a mid gen type of upgrade.Comment
